I think its hilarious how everyone keeps talking about how easy it is to counter lrms etc, challenge comes around. Everyone and their uncle goes full lrm.
I think they're pretty hard to avoid unless one takes RDM - which comes at a prohibitive cost for new players (or those without heromechs). This weekends challenge found me back in a minty-fresh AWS-8R; farting LRMs left and right in 2x30 salvoes through the whole match. It's still 500-800 damage for doing absolutely nothing, no brains required, vegetative functions are more than adequate. At least one kill every victorious match; 2-4 if things go your way. Never saw those poor guys; but i know my neverending moron-rain must have had them gnashing their teeth. I'll keep my h4rdc0re t4ct1c4l nuclear support mech for future challenges i guess:

god, i feel dirty.

Oh, i forgot: in one match of 20, the enemy had several ECM-mechs. QQ NERF ECM.
And yes; half my matches for the challenge were done this way

. I tried going in in my normal direct-fire weapons mechs; it was absolutely horrible. LRMs darkening the sky from every direction; and teams that were about as coordinated as a herd of kittens.
BTT: why should i be excited about a standard (C) - mech? I liked the free premium time most; closely followed by some free components, a free mechbay and 1,5 million c-bills
