I sure could use a new turret...., I mean mech to round out my CW drop deck. Can't wait for the inevitable Urbie videos by the TheB33f and maybe Plexi can add it as the next character in "All Systems Nominal"

Every last Saturday of a month is a mainly german community fun driven event: The Drink & Drive! On this evening many Members of different Units come together at the German Ghost Bear Teamspeak, Drinkin' some (more) beer (or something else) and rage through PUG-Matches or fight in the Lobby. :)

Because there is a large base of UrbanMech Fan(atic)s, in April there will be a (or some more ;)) Last-UrbanMech-Standing Lobbymatches! Here is the already prepared poster:

Don't underestimate an Urbanmech. He will always be the last on the battlefield. He can't reach the enemy in time! ^^

If this is true... what happens, if there are only Urbanmechs on the Battlefield...

the only reason i want a urbanmech is because it is the closest thing to the elemental in game.

I can't claim this pick but I think it is funny! I think the urbies will look cool in my mech bay, and a additional turret on assault mode will be necessary.

Cool, i want urban mech please pick my name!!!!! Thank you!

The UrbanMech was designed for just what its name suggests, urban combat and defense. This was achieved by starting with a cheap, easily-produced chassis, giving it six tons Durallex armor to rival the protection found on many medium-weight battlemechs and mounting a pair of Pitban 6000 jumpjets for a jumping distance of 60 meters. The trade-off was that it could only mount the miserly Leenix 60 engine, making the UrbanMech the slowest light 'Mech in existence with a cruising speed of 21 km/h and top speed of only 32.4 km/h. This was a severe disadvantage if the 'Mech attempted to fight in open country - something for only the foolish or desperate - but off-set by the fact that fighting in the close confines of a Star League city left little room to maneuver anyways and the UrbanMech's low profile made it difficult to target. Thus the 'Mech was primarily used for fighting guerrillas and other light 'Mechs in an urban environment, an arena where it also achieved some success fighting medium and even heavy-weight 'Mechs. Standard tactics for an UrbanMech lance was to split up into its constituent parts and occupy various buildings in order to snipe the enemy before falling back to the next defensive line.

So, will crab turreting be the go to tactic for Urbie warriors? I know I would find a king crab with a 360 degree rotating ac 20 on its back quite terrifying.

So if there is a Urbie coming does this means there will be some kind of a urban map? Right? Big buildings? Lots of them? Lots of routes and attack points? Lots of JJ usage? Right? RIGHT?!

Also, by "urban" I think about a map where your longest LOS is not greater than 10-20% of said map's length/width (Talking about those maps where you start, run for 300m, climb a small hill, fire of JJ and in middle of flight you can wave to enemy assault lance who just barely crawled their asses outta their spawn). Of course except for those VERY high view points to which you can only get using lights with JJ. Plus to counter the possibilty to overlook the whole map (Crimson Strait) density of buildings on the ground will play a role BUT as a whole still giving some kind of satisfaction for the player who used this tactical manouver and climbed aaaall they way up ;]

My. My. So many ideas, just because URBIE!
