I feel dirty. Played some really good IS teams tonight but honestly the only way to beat them on Boreal seems to be to zerg it with stormcrows/Timberwolves.
That said, its very effective but I hate playing that way. I hate leaning on the crow and Timberwolf to simply rush when I would prefer to kill. Our unit is having a really rough time actually "brawling" on that map though against the IS; especially against good teams.
If you try to fight the ppc spam on that map is bad to the point you will typically lose a couple of mechs before the fight even begins. The map is also very partial to pop hitting which again doesn't favor the clans at all.
Any advice would be appreciated: are other clan 12 mans out there having any luck winning on boreal against the IS with anything other than Timberwolf/crow rushing?

There is always the attrition option...which, frankly, is a lot more fun, and makes a lot more C-Bills.
EDIT: In the last couple matches like this, I was in a Gargoyle and Kit Fox for most of it; our Stormcrow and Timberwolf count totalled *maybe* 7, at most. Stormcrows do not make you win.

The only time we ever zerg base is if at the end of a phase and the planet is close on points.

I've seen long range clan teams do reasonably well by CER large laser spamming to effectively farm the enemy team defending in the vault, wiping out the enemy team before taking out the generators. Really depends on the quality of defender to be honest, if they bunker down and stall, or if they keep peeking and taking mass laser spam to the face.

Camp E6- E7, creep up the ramp and kill them as they respawn, when enough are dead take the base.

I have tried the camp E6/E7 thing. Always seems to be an uphill battle as you lose a couple coming in typically and then they have the numbers advantage on you. Are we doing something wrong.

Always use your strengths against your enemies weaknesses...if it's successful and makes you feel as if you cheated, then you are doing it right. Carry on Commander.

Everyone needs to be on the ball and haul ass back to campsite after they respawn, each wave needs an ECM, a spotter to lock targets on base for lurming enemy spawns and some light hunters. A good drop commander doesn't hurt either.
