I really don't see how they didn't know what was going on.... I made it very clear in chat I was taking Mickey and his jags up on the offer. Several of them even responded, and one said that Jags can't be trusted, lol. Our fearless leader that took command kept asking me what I was doing after I took down the last clanner for the win and rushed to take out the last Gen and then to try to take Omega. You would think he would got the memo... but I guess he missed it. I didn't have time to type once I took out the last clan pilot...had to haul ass to try and get the win. Are some pugs really that clueless?

Mickey.... I know the "redheaded" step child remark was a bit much.... but just giving you guys some $hit is all. You and Tyler did well, and it was fun. My frames didn't hit that hard, I think I seen a few dips into the high 20's low 30's on my system, and I had several things up in windows as I always do. Either way you guys put out a hell of a dual, and it was fun. So... have you thought about the next time we meet on the field... will you throw down your arms and let my team march in and take the objective? I feel like we got robbed at the end of that one....

You said you guys was recording the match also.... is there any way you can send me a link or the vid for what your side filmed? Ummm that would be great!

Of course the match is yours, we honor our debts. *as long as our group is large enough or those not in group are cool with it. Also hats off to Tyler who joined us the day before from IS and may be still in clan trials? His eagerness to jump in on this is why we find him a great addition to our group!

Mickey, right now I am in RW group on my Clan only account, with Silkenpimp and some others. If they wouldn't have recruited me I would sign up with you guys. It is a nice change to find clan players and IS players that are willing to make this game more fun for everyone. Imagine if everyone would of been on the same page, we all met up and formed a circle and just followed the terms set up... this would be epic and so much fun! The videos of battle we could produce from games like this would just be awesome!

And that is cool, I understand it will depend on how many of your team drops with you to get them to conform to honoring this battle in a new one. Thank you for at least being open to giving a IS player his Victory even if its from a prior battle that it was denied in. There is no dishonor in being honorable.... even if it means one side loses the match.

If you have the video from your guys angle and can send it to me, that would be great!

IM sure there are a few other things, but those are the main 5 that stood out to me

Also, that beginning part, that is why I doubt I could ever get behind an honor code fight....to much of a chance it doesnt go correctly.

Haha, yup...

After the massive friggin Nerf bat aimed in the clans' direction, and now the IS Quirks pass, just about the entirety of the Clan lineup is actually UP in comparison. Only a handful (maybe 4?) can stand on equal footing with IS mechs anymore, especially the OP Firestarter pulse laser and Thunderbolt ERPPC builds.

While I agree with you on the Clan nerf bat was a kick in the nuts for the clans, and I was strongly against any clan nerfs...or IS nerfs for that matter, Neither of the two IS mechs you listed are involved in the 1vs1 we just had, and none of the quirks on the mechs I took was really OP or geared to the load outs I picked on my mechs, other then the Thunderbolt 5SS with its med pulse quirks. I really haven't heard anyone complaining about the quirks on the 5SS, and as you can see, I was having issues with heat and had to fire 3 and 4 groups of the pulse lasers and still was over heating.

Just because a pilot beats another pilot doesn't mean that the mech they are in is OP.... adapt, overcome or die trying....but the nerf bat needs to go for all mechs, IMO. Step up, play the game to the best of your skills, win or lose, its what makes the game fun.

I think Mickey and Tyler both are good pilots, but one of the things that I think helped me out was that he didn't keep my Jager at range. I would of tried to increase the distance between a boom Jager if it was me in the Timber... and let my range on my Clan lasers do the work. Also..... all he had to do was take out one of my ST and I would of been screwed. I think my use of cover and torso twisting helped him not to be able to do that. I prefer my timber set up with 4-5 small pulse lasers, and 3-4 Srm6's or 5 small pulse lasers, and 2 med pulse lasers and 3 srm 6. I knew I had him when he allowed me to stay in close, and as we all know, Clan lasers have heat issues.

The heat issues are so bad, I sold off my mastered Nova's on both my accounts after the small laser and medium laser nerf on range and heat. I used to run my Nova S with 12 small lasers, and after the nerf I just couldn't seem to manage my heat with any build with the blowva's anymore. Kinda sad....I really used to love my Nova's!

I said those two IS mechs were outliers. The 'holy trinity' is fairly competitive among the IS mechs now.

Russ has stated in the last TH that the clans are getting new omni pods, and the Timber D is coming..... I am gonna love that build and can not wait!

Skill set and set up seems to have been a bigger factor then mech. I mean Bill had a juicy exposed ST for the last minute and 40 seconds of the BoomJ fight... Plus this was a purely close range fight which is exactly what the BoomJ (and his other 2) was set up for. It could have turned out differently if starting from far away or if the TW or SC was rocking pulse lasers.

Yep..... this for sure^^^

I am a brawler.... I don't use LRM's, and rarely do I use sniper builds. I like to get up and close with my enemy, and most of my builds show that. If I was going against a boom Jeger with any mech.... even a locust, my first priority would be to hit its side torso till it pop's. IF you can do that, its all over for the "Glass cannon builds." Even the BJ has the same issue.... and is easy to take out from the rear if you can work your way around to it. IS XL engines have draw backs that can be exploited.... how easy it is to do that depends on two factors, your skill as a pilot and the pilots skill you are up against.

Just to bring up a couple points here not trying to discredit anything that happened..

1. I had not intended to duel, and was in a mid range build vs ac40.

2. As indicated I was not suppose to be the one there for the fight and was at 86% from killing another guy on the way out there. ** by the way you will see the clip of my chat right before he dropped from the dropship say something like " well I am at 86% but Im already here"

3. My pc is registering 20fps max atm drops to 8 in combat. (hence new I7 build with gtx970 incoming next week) I have been struggling in there but is tolerable in mid range on.

4. as far as my skill set,, we I have pulled 11 kills in reg que, and have achieved 1400+ damage in every weight class IS and clan (except clan lights go figure) with zero mechs with lrm builds.

Anywho, when my rig gets here Im down for a rematch

Yeah, bad FPS is alot of my issue in this game. I get like 15-25FPS. CW it never goes a point over 20.

I am not, or have not tried to discredit your skills or Tyler's as pilots. You guys did well, and given the circumstance's of the lack of conforming to the terms on both sides, more so on my team side for sure, it made things very interesting indeed. I think we all did well given the circumstances guys. Mickey, you did notice that I was firing at that Cent just as much as I was at you in the second match, right?

That put me at a pretty big handicap being in a BJ vs timber, and my heat meeter was in the red trying to get that Cent off you so we could get back to our match. I did all I could in that one... looking back maybe we should of both stopped fighting each other and taken out the offender of the terms. I would of been cool with that, and pretty much did try to make him lose his Ac/20 so we could get back to the dual.

What are you running right now for your rig? Those FPS are pretty bad Mickey... Ouch! I am down for a rematch at anytime.... and for that matter am willing to do this type and other terms of a fight anytime in any game mode. Part II then?
