I've taken a break from MWO since before the clan invasion started, quite before that actually. Has anything changed that would make me want to come back? Has incline movement been redone? Multi-weapon ghost heat? Are the clans OP now as we all expected them to be? And how has community warfare been going? Please take the time to catch me up, as I would like to rejoin the community, as would a couple of my friends who are Closed Beta vets.

With that said the quirk passes have made IS mechs a lot closer to clans in terms of strength, with clans being better in terms of range than IS still except for the tbolt er ppc build. I'd suggest taking a look at a tier list so you get an idea of what is worth picking up nowadays. Community Warfare I give a solid "eh" to, it's beta so a lot still to be done in it to make it worth playing. The maps could use some definite balancing and overall it's something you'll want a large group before you queue. Ghost heat still exists but that doesn't stop people from alphaing, just that eventually in fighting you'll have to decide if you want dps from using groups to manage heat better or to put out more burst. Overall i'd say it's a lot more worth playing than it was previously especially now that timberwolf and stormcrow aren't hideously op compared to IS.

IS mechs got a quirk pass.
Clans were released
CW dropped
Urbanmechs.

PGI bought out IGP. Since then the turnaound has been pretty incredible.

Being a Legendary Founder, you'll want to look at this FAQ, because you probably got a bunch of free stuff and mechs. You at least got the Atlas S and a King Crab.

On Clans: their weapons have greater range and in some cases higher damage, but tend to run a lot hotter and are more duration based. Their lasers need to be held on target for longer, the Autocannons are burst fire rather than a single slug, and the LRMs fire in a stream rather than a cluster. C-LRMs can also do damage under 180m, but it very rapidly decreases as you close the gap. Also all Clan mechs use C-XL engines, they can survive with one side torso missing, so you'll need to take out both sides if you can't get to their CT/legs/head.

Thanks for the info guys, I didn't really want to wade through the toxic forums for the info, any more would be appreciated, but I think I get the picture. Any more info on the IGP buyout?

IGP is dead, beyond that its no concern of ours. All that matters is PGI is out from under them, community communication and involvement as well as content generation is way up, and they are now self publishing giving them total control over all aspects of the game.
