Clan Prices

But with the recent cbill releases I find my self puzzled yet again . Why is the king crab cheaper then the mad dog?
Why would you buy a dire wolf at 11 mill more then the crab?
I'm not complaining I always thought the Direwolf was overpriced but perhaps its time to adjust prices across the board so they make sense?

Crabs all have standard engines in them too, if they had XL's they'd be up in the 14,000,000 range.

The prices reflect their TT costs, mostly. In TT, there is a large power gap at 3050 between the IS mechs and the Clan mechs, but here in MWO the gap is much closer, so one could almost see where there could be price parity having every "upgrade" already included in the mechs that have them, with a slight price bump for the clan XL engine.

and for C-Bills after 1-2 months,
3 months seems abit long, and only for Cash also as well,
selling for MC, would also lead to more MC sales in general,

Stock Crab: Just under 11mil, with just an XL300 and DHS, it's up to 17mil.
An XL300 is 5mil on its own.
And the Mad Dog has an XL300 aswell as DHS too.

The 1.5 million for DHS is a fair addition however.

Yeah, Clans get all the bad, but seems they are losing the good....
We get our costs, but our gear isnt worth the prices.

But Star Commander, think of how many times your Dire Wolf has gotten stuck in a creek bed....
Now think of all the times your going to get it stuck doing stupid **** cuz now you think the JJ will save you....I can see it, 3 Dire Wolves humping a hillside cuz none of them have the jump juice to get over it....meanwhile the enemy is right on the crest demolishing their team.......when its all said and done, like 9 mechs come peak over the side of the hill as the Whales stare up in stunned amazement right before they are blown to bits....
kinda like the ending video of Mechcommander Gold.....alteast the part right before the dropships show up...

"but, but it was a DEAL, this is the real price..." My ass! Its like they said up there, if you are balancing IS vs Clans with nerfs and quirks, why the price difference? maybe a little bit? but that much? And I am talking REAL MONEY difference... clans cost the almost the double!
Clan wave 2: 12 mechs, 4 factions packs = 120 bucks
Resitance pack: 12 mechs, 6 factions packs = 80 bucks
RAGE MODE ON!!!! GRAAAAWWW! *throw the cat litter box against the wall*

The MC cost of these mechs is high, because it's converted from the C-Bill value, which has all the upgrades and junk already included.
There's pre-upgraded IS mechs that are pretty damn high too.
Note I won't buy them either.

The IRL money price is higher, becuase the MC price is higher.
The MC price is higher, because the C-Bill price is higher.
The C-Bill price is higher, because upgrades and large XLs come baked into the price.
They have to have an equivalent rate of exchange or they devalue their own pricing.
Packages are an incentive for you to make large purchases all at once, or in regular steady intervals, so come with extras and a deep discount.
The packages also reflect the internal value of the mechs, with clans having more by default.
But both the Resistance and Clan 1+2 packs are fantastic relative value.
Honestly, I think they should have packaged the reinforcement as packages, $30 a tier, each tier has the weight class and needs the prior to get or, buy Alacarte at the set prices.
Knock $5 off a tier if you own all mechs in the pack.
This is how they make their money, how the game stays alive and grows.
It applies to the real world too.
Apple products are no better (and often worse) than equivalent products, but will charge 2-6 times more due to the brand.
Alternatively, I can get a cheap (£100) smartphone that'll do much the same as a £5-600) iphone, or a £300 smartphone, that'll have much the same components as the £100, just slightly better.
Now the hardware will cost a few pounds more to make, but there's R&D, production, delivery, advertising, store cut, etc to take into account, that's how the economy works.
But saying 'but these things are pretty similar, why are the different prices' show a lack of understanding on multiple levels.
Tired rant over.
