Can we say that this kind of challenge brings out the worst in the community and gameplay?

1) People ignore objectives gunning for kills
2) People friendly fire more trying to poach kills
3) People suicide/run away and disconnect to avoid kills prolonging games.

This challenge and its implication on public matches is quite perverse.

I haven't seen a lot of friendly fire (well, specifically TKs),.so I think that may occur at certain levels of Elo (we're talking about the people that don't care who dies) than it is on other levels.

Considering that all 3 modes are considered "deathmatch", the objectives aren't as important unless "all of a sudden" it matters (like, realizing you don't have losing the resource wars in Conquest... or forgot a lance in Assault that managed to cap out a base).

The last point happens regardless of skill though. I've seen people do that in the presence of the Lords or equivalent teams so it's nothing new.

Yep, it happened last time with the Victor challenge too, and it's dumb. I made a thread earlier requesting to change the kill requirement for the challenge, but now it's mostly over so too late I guess.

These ****** challenges just bring the worst out in matchmaker, IMO. My win/loss always plumets to LESS THAN HALF than what I've averaged over the last two years. Last event I got a record 10 losses in a row, this time I've already hit 9 losses in a row less than 20 matches in.

I'm curious why I can't get over a win/loss ratio over 0.6 during these events despite a W:L ratio of 1.28 over 3500 previous games. Where is the person getting a ratio of 2:1 and how do I sign up for that spot?!

Not as bad as having to surivive, where everyone just runs around, literally, in circles all day.

Honestly, its the 'win' requirement that is killing me. Maybe im in elo hell?
1 assist and 1 kill is not a tall order.

Learn to play under temporary, less than desirable conditions...its called sucking it up and making best use of the resources at hand.

I gave up.

I have about 50 games done. 20 some odd victories and about 15 points.

I'm angry half the matches, frustrated, and just plain exhausted. Had this challenge been 15 points, I'd barely done it and hated every bit of it.

At least I got some premium time anyway.

the 1st one happens regardless of the challenge or not. how many games have actually been won by reaching all resources or capping the enemy base in comparison to the number that end because you killed all the enemies.

2nd not really. I guess if a bunch of fat mechs are fighting yea, but I was in a locust so everyone just shot over me.

3rd. I've never seen that.

Its pretty bad. Just did a match with 1100 damage and no kills. Had two jack offs following behind my dire letting me take damage then moving in front of me. After the third time I did not come off the trigger. Needless to say I was ticked off.

BTW: Don't get me wrong, I like challenges in general, but this one just felt like it was too much. Had the kill requirement been lifted or the points required been halved, I would have enjoyed it far more.

anyone remembering the challanges where we hat to get 300 score where kills, assists narcs, scouting and tags counted?

the basic difference is that the above describec challange will grant nearly anyone some points to get closer to the goal.

the nature of one kill one assits and win is basically screwing more than 50% of the people per match, because the losing team does not come closer to the goal. and even within the winning team someone without kill or assist will just

and so by human nature the challange is making more poeple unhappy than happy per match. While strangely it rquires more skill, and therefore being more of a challange than the gather 300 score challange (which was a true pure grind, even if some really good people could finish it in one evening.)
