And here I thought everyone said Clan light 'mechs were garbage.

Who would of thought.

Whattya know. The old Jenner Swarm lives again. Mist Lynx packing is honestly an ideal opener vs. a light rush, as they can get in there and pick on 'Mechs all the way from before the gates to the generators.

Thats not the problem. The problem is that the game allows them all to drop as all the same class of mech at any one time. not even normals allow that anymore. Why should CW?

Cause there is such a thing as a Hussar Unit.
Cause the Killer Bees is a Merc Command with nothing over 45 tons.

I'm sorry, IS lights are better in every regard. If we can stop IS light rushes, you can stop ours. Instead of complaining, try thinking about a tactic to stop our pushes.

IS lights are better, but clan anti-light wpns are better - massed SSRM6 wrecks small mechs wholesale.

In fact lightrushes by clans are no less dangerous then those by IS groups. It may be true that some IS lights are better then the available clan lights (although at least the mist lynx isnt really a bad light if you know how to use it) but the clans have way better light hunters.

Yes, good IS pilots with pinpoint weapons can stop lights in theory....but we all know how bad hitreg is for most of us, especially for non american players like me. So a really effective lightshunter needs SSRMs. And IS can never fit more then 12 tubes in a mech while clans can mount triple as much. Also the clanstreakboats are way faster and can follow a light or multiple lights better which makes them not three times as deadly but more like 4-5 times as deadly as IS lighthunters.

So in my eyes clans could benefit from their lights way more then IS even if some IS lights may be better. They just dont do it often because the trinity of SCR, TBR and DWF is still more of a guaranteed win against an equal skilled enemy.

So just waited nearly a half hour for a CW match and needless to say my entire team got screwed over in the most bullshit fireball of garbage i have ever seen.

Jfp or whatever the hell their name is sitting around playing like brats. IS went for a counter attack and as soon as we get down to the gates to start poking.

12 Mist lynx come jumping over the gate and completely destroy our first wave of mechs before anyone can even mount a defencive. What is that crap? 300 tons on the dot? For a team of 12 players thats under tonnage like hell. Then they come out with Multiple storm crows and timbers all set up with alot of large and medium lasers.

CW needs locks to provent spam of to many assults at once and to many lights at once. And maybe for good measure chassis locks too. No more then 4 of the same type of chassis

This isnt how clans are meant to play and neither is it meant to be played like that in the normals. So why the hell is it even allowed at all in CW? Im all for new stratagys, but spamming is never a stratgy; its trolling.

Im just asking for some quality of life for this mode. Hell I invested in the mode buying the clans. Why is it that i cant enjoy the thing i invested in. Just balance out the tonnages and chassis so i dont have to stare at a sea of mist lynx devouring my team unfairly

12 Mist Lynxes came out and destroyed you? That's amazing. Do you know how few weapons those can mount? Also, props to JFP for taking a leaf out of the books of some of the Inner Sphere units they've faced. They must have gotten tired of us taking Firestarters, Jenners and Spiders and legging all their precious Timbers and Stormcrows on the first wave. Way to go JFP...work those tactics :)

Direwhales fly now.
Wait til 12 of them jump the gates at you ;)

But really, they could have made this assault in 3/3/3/3 mix of mechs all with JJ anyway. So a restriction would change nothing.
They used their first least valuable mechs for the initial assault then brought in their real firepower.

Just one single IS scout would have saved you a lot of trouble. Mist Lynx are fairly weak ... just great JJ and maneuverable. Just shoot the legs ...

NS has never ever ever run 12 light rushes on Defense / Offense (*wink*)

PS thanks for the humor this morning and great job JFP! We have seen the Lync swarm a few times (since we scout). It freaked us out the first time but we still swatted it down.

^this guy understands.

MLX is our throw away mech to fit a TBR TBR HBR deck. If you have so much trouble with the throw away mech what happens when the 3 good mechs hit the ground?

+1. Sending a wave of lights mechs out the gate on defense, even if you DON'T trade more kills for deaths (though you often can) often seriously messes with your opponents' heads. And if you trade 12 30-35 tonners for 8 to 15 55+ tonners? That's a nice swing.

We do Light zergs on Defense all the time. 90% of those matches we wind up destroying/disabling 16+ heavier Mechs compared to our 10-12 Lights. It's a valid tactic that you should be prepared for.

Don't need a Streakcrow.

The IS has plenty of options to deal with Mist Lynx's. Namely...every weapon in the game.

Sorry Zamiake, but in fact what you faced was a positive quality of life for the mode. You got to enjoy a real battle, going up against an interesting tactic where you in fact had the chance to possible wipe out 10 mechs and hit the gates almost completely uncontested! The only thing your mad about, beyond the wait, and let me tell you we all hate the wait, is the fact that you lost. It's ok to lose...it's part of the game. I f you take losing out of the equation the quality of a game drops to zero very quickly. Hopefully you learned from the tactic and are better prepared to deal with it in the future.

The problem is that the current CW model is pigeon holing what you can bring in your drop deck to be effective. It's not just a problem on the clan side either. Those are their most effective drop decks TBR, and SCR for clan on defense and offense with a few stray assaults and lights thrown in. Tblots, and spiders for IS with a few stray assaults and mediums thrown in on defense. There is a more varied option for IS on attack but there are still tbolts and spiders in our drop decks. unfortunately that is not going to change much for the clans with the tonnage restrictions, and lack of different weight classes of battlemechs. IS has at least one mech chassis in every weight class at 5 ton intervals from 25 tons to 100 tons the clans do not but that is true to lore. Would increasing the maximum weight allowed reduce or increase the problem, don't know but it would have to be tested before doing so.

Teamwork as always is OP.

That this guy is complaining about MLX when FS9s are the originator of this tactic makes it that much funnier.

.....supposed to be played eh?

Again.....teamwork is your problem OP, not their 360 ton loadout (so perhaps math is your other issue).

Ok now that I have stopped laughing, this tactic has been used many times over by both Clans and IS, Imagine me in the trial Warhawk because I wanted to run it being circled by 3+ IS lights and can hardly get a hit off on them because I can't track them fast enough. Never once cried foul just cussed to myself as my Mech went up in flames.

EDIT: wtf S H O T got censored?

very legit tactic. It sucks when it happens to you and youre not ready for it. But just because a team is on defense, does not mean they should just sit and defend. If they got this tactic to work with 10 Mist Lynx or whatever it was... my hat is off to them and as far as im concerned, well played. Just goes to show that in CW we ALL need to be ready for ANYTHING. Because as most of us have seen, anything will happen lol.
