So my boss has a stick type mouse. I'd never seen one of these before, but manipulating the stick which looks like a smallish flight stick moves the cursor around the screen, and it has severl buttons on it that can be hot keyed. He says it's easier on his wrist, but I immediately thought of its gaming potential. Does anyone use these and if so how do like it?

I never had a problem targeting in games with a flight stick. Are you saying that the sensitivity of the device would cause it to be to jittery?
