What really irritates me is you can't even buy them for MC.

You HAVE to purchase them for straight cash in the cash shop on the website.

This means if you bought a $100 MC pack on Christmas and have 25,000 MC sitting around, you STILL can't get those mechs.

PGI has always been known for being a cash grab, but honestly this is a new low.

I thought "things were different" after they ditched IGP.

But I see a "certain special someone" is still making his love felt and known, even now.

Agreed, it's absurd that you can't use MC to buy them. I wouldn't buy them, but it still makes no sense. It's just like with the Clan Packs - people who bought MC should be able to use it like cash.

meh *uninstalls*
jk

but I don't see why they need to keep it in gift mode till april. I mean only like 1 or 2 is even a game changer for that chassis, Its unlikely many people will even buy the new variants especially when only 1 ominpod is even different in some cases. PGI should really work on the omnipods that are duplicates. why do we need 4 Lynx side torsos all with the same nothing hard points? Several clan mechs have the exact same hard points in the same omnipods, which is kinda pointless.

This is how all the content has been released recently and it follow suit. How this boggles you even though nothing has changed confuses me. Just suck it up and wait, its not like they're a game changer or anything.

I picked up the Timberwolf D, just so I could duplicate the original Splat Wolf I built when Clans were first released. This allows me to go back to my original version that didn't have an overabundance of jump jets.

Other than that, there was nothing else that even piqued my interest.

There's a couple of omnipods in there that I MAY pick up when they become available for C-Bills, but nothing that really screamed "Oh I've GOT to have that."

The only one I want is that Gargoyle arm. The rest are not really worth my time. My Timberwolves don't use missiles. I have 1 with 2 UAC 5s and 4 MLs, and one with 6 MPLs. The other variant has 2 LRM 15s in each side torso and really Its more of my Joke build. the JJ in the CT sucked up a ton I'd rather spend on anything else.

Lynx's is useless to me.
I use my Adder over my Kit fox, and my adder is an energy build and I have no reason to want to put 2 ballistics on it.

Ferret, don't really care about (I just hate every clan medium they just don't work with me)

Stormcrow I hate.

Don't own a Warhawk, Direwolf, Summoner, Maddog, so I don't care about what they got.

I literally just want to buy 1 omnipod, and I gotta wait till April.

Your job is a cashgrab. People need to stop talking about making money as if it were the worst thing in the world. Some people's children, I swear.

I just knew it was too good to be true.

223$ for all the variants... 223$... seriously??!!!
This is a new level.
According to white-knight records: PGI sold 24 mechs in clan wave 1 (we all know it was 8... but i'm referencing the people saying it was 24 to make them unable to defend anything now). 10$ per mech.

This is beyond ridiculous... the reinforcement on average is 18.5$ per mech (19.3 for wave 1 only)

PGI... why all those hype??... why all those "TDR-9S is fine wait for new pods" statements?

And the best part is that you only get 1 pod for each body part after the purchase and even that is by un-equipping it from its variant.

3 variants each of 8 mechs = 24 mechs. Don't give us that "we all know it was 8", that's BS and you know it. The only thing about it that was "8 mechs" were the Invasion Primes, which cannot be sold. We also got a bunch of premium time, warhorns, bonus modules, paint colors, polygon camo, maybe some other cockpit item knick-knacks. It was a decent deal.

As for the pricing of the new omnimech variants, they are a bit rich for my blood, so I <GASP!> won't buy them. Except maybe for the Timber Wolf, which will let me get my old Timby S load out back. Honestly, none of the new variants are game changers, and they bring little, if anything, new to the table. I think they could all use a 10-15% price reduction.

If I could just get the omnipods, I would probably drop a bit of MC for a few of them. Was disappointed when I found out you either have to pay 15-25 bucks for a single variant's omnipods.

The additions are weird. They are already a chassis out for MC and Cbill purchase. Why DIDN'T they just put them out for MC for a few weeks.

Kinda a non starter there..

I'm keen to try the JJ DireWolf, but that would likely only deepen my shame spiral for actually running a DireWolf.

URBIE though, I have to buy that, if only to have an effective excuse for playing poorly while drunk.

All these complaints though - i've seen nothing (except perhaps whale JJ's) that is cause for even mild concern. The Garg and Crow can run more lasers now, sure, but are they really more useable than current meta? Probably not.

If you don't want to buy anything, don't. Be patient and pick them up later.

Yes, making money is so horrible. That's why you work for free, right? Right? ... right?

They already got my money with MC.

Telling me I can't use already purchased MC to buy variants of mechs that are already out for cbills is just a slap in the face.

PGI could part me from my 50$ for the urbie....

But they could NEVER make me buy any of these (which will be released for free in a few months)

If that's the way you feel about it, good for you. I don't know what you want me to tell ya'. I'm not here to justify your feelings, they are yours to deal with. I'm just pointing out how absurd it is to expect them to not directly monetize early access the way they've been doing since... Oh, what? The Founders' program?
