Anyone else who is tired of opening their missle bay doors for every match will agree with me i believe.

Simple toggle option, similar to the arm lock one. Everytime you drop into a match, you will start with the missle bay doors open (or they automatically open after the start up sequence). This option will be set to on by default because newbies have no idea what missle bay doors are and they will be very confused as to why there is a lag delay when firing missles. Having it on by default will remove that confusion, and they can always choose to turn it off or manually close it during a match if they wanted to.

Harder to add :

If there are no missles in that location, then the bay doors should default to close even if the toggle option is on, since there is no benefit to having the doors open if there are no missles there.

You could also have them close automatically when the missles in that location run out of ammo during a match.

I disagree. The knowledgeable player has an advantage as he should. This would eliminate that advantage. Plus I like that level of control they have in the game. It's not that hard to hit it during start up. I turn off my lights first thing every match, it's never been a bother.

Also with missle bay doors open you are much more likely to get critically hit in the particular area.

That's not how bay door works. They only start taking effect AFTER you lose all armor in that area. Then bay doors reduce damage taken by internals by 10% if closed. It does not change the crit chance, just the damage.

You want PGI to dedicate time and resources so you don't have to press a key every 15 minutes? :P

Punishing newbies is good for the game....how exactly? Its bad enough that throttle decay and arm lock are on by default. Regardless of how well acquianted you are with the game, this just makes it more convenient for everyone who has a mech with missle bay doors. The 10% damage thing isnt even relevant because 99% of the time, any weapons fire that hits an exposed arm will blow it off entirely, especially in the current meta of high alphas.

If you want to argue that, they shouldnt put in basic features like having the UI remember your last selected game mode either, or your last used mech, or your weapon groups. These are really basic user friendly features that cant be hard to code and should be in by default.

And why exactly should he? Why should there be specific, obscure facts that don't add depth to the game, but only inhibit new players? I agree that a game should make demands on the player, but as it is, MWO goes out of its ways to obscure information from new players, resulting in a largely uneducated playerbase that conveniently serves to mask the general lack of balance.
