This game is absolute torture, want to know why? 90% of my time playing this game is spent levelling underpowered and frankly ******* terrible mechs, that I just can't justify spending the tens of millions of cbills on to just play 10-15 games in and then SELL because of a lack of mechbays and cbills.

It is absolutly horrible, you are a complete detriment to your team, and really, how can anyone argue that it is good gameplay?

MMO's have wised up to this major drawback of progression gameplay within the last few years by introducing 'bolster' mechanics to pvp, where a lower level or lower geared player will get bolstered to the same level as anyone else - and my most enjoyable and best pvp experiences in gaming history (since the late 80's for me, perhaps except Terminator Skynet on lan - that was so damn good) has been in this environment (SWTOR levelling pvp). The instant I hit max level in that game I was re-introduced to the gear grind and being completely underpowered - and guess what I did? I cancelled my sub and quit the game.

Please, please, please, please - and for the love of god - please, get out a 'stock mode' for MWO, and fast. In this mode we will be able to level up our mechs in a much more forgiving environment, and, for me anyway - the experience of playing this game will be improved A LOT.

Thanks.

Russ said stock mode would be for private matches... so...

Stock mode public queue would be a little awkward.

MW4 stock games just turned into fighting the same 3-4 mechs over and over. I can't really imagine seeing MWO being any different, unless they nail weapon balance and quirk balance on the head.

I didn't know he had said it will be private only :( This game has a lot more chassis and a lot more players, so I would hope that that wouldn't happen. Also, what stock mechs are actually good? (IS). I don't have any friends that play this either, so I am forever stuck in the solo queue.

I suppose what it really comes down to is the fact that mastered and customised mechs vs stock ones with single heat sinks is absolute night and day. Single heat sink mechs are completely worthless - total rubbish. And to make that grind easier and quicker we have to spend a lot of cbills - that are in themselves very hard to come by.

Good luck fighting Clans with quarter heatsinks.

It's not the total number of mechs that matter, it's the number of competitive stock models that matter and I doubt this game has that many so you wouldn't see all that much variety. Plus I'm pretty sure the desire to play stock mode is over represented on the forums. I can't see it being worth PGI's time to work on since they haven't even finished CW and need to polish up the game for possible Steam launch. That's a lot of work ahead without adding a stock queue.

I would pay money for a stock mode.

It's not going to happen.

PGI is investing all their resources in CW and moar mechs at the moment, and getting ready for a Steam release later this year, probably. Then they're thinking about Solaris and PvE, which I guess might be ready in 2016 or 2017.

Stock mech mode isn't even on their radar.

I talked to my 3 friends who are on the fence about this game, and they are REALLY REALLY REALLY excited.

This gives new players a way to play realistically, and honestly, I kind of like the idea of all stock loadouts.

I think ultimately, Solaris Arena will favor the custom mechs.

Yeah, :(.Well, he didn't specifically exclude public queue, but he didn't talk about it at all either, only mentioned private matches. By the sound of how he was talking, seemed like stock public queue isn't even in their sights atm. Here, i'll give you the link and time he says it:
@ 1:37:47 ". . . this will probably spur me on to get the guys to make the stock only button for private matches"

I understand that clan vs is is an issue with this, and thats why I mentioned 'what stock mechs are actually good? (IS)' in my second post. They would have to be seperated, or make it just IS.

And thanks for the info moonunitbeta.

Are you also going to separate out those mechs that have upgrades like DHS out too? See this is why stock mode isn't as simple as people make it out to be.

Rather than making stock mode as separate queue, it would be a lot better to make a global chat or something similar to help organize stock match for those of us, who interested.

Actually what the could do is have Stock random mode for fun.

Where each team gets the exact same 12 mechs (3/3/3/3) and either players pick/it's randomized or whatever to decide who pilots what.

Then you have a completely even match all skill based

Mechs are supplied regardless of ownership and any XP earned would be useable upon purchase so you still have to cbill sink to level it. Or just do away with any quirk bonuses as well.

The whole point of leveling your mech is to get an advantage over players with un-mastered mechs.

That said, the bottom line is that skill trumps gear in this game. A skilled pilot can pretty much always take down a low skill pilot no matter what they are piloting.

Then throw in teamwork and it's game over.

this is really simple. Allow people to pilot any mech like a trial. select the Blackjack-1, and click Play. get put in the stock only que.
select a trial or a mech you own and get dropped in the current que system.

You know if you got off your effing wallet and crammed 10$ into the game you wouldn't have these issues

I have 'crammed' over 130 dollars into this game. I really hate people like you.

With quirks though some stock IS mechs will be quite strong but short on ammo or hot still.

How can you not master/upgrade a chassis in a day then?

Premium time etc
