Obviously Robot Jox is a given and probably the closest to a Battletech movie that we've come, but we don't talk about that.
Also There's Robotech (Southern Macrosspeada)
I'd prefer live action, but we can bung in stuff like Gundam and Evangelion if you like, but surely it's not all anime?
Anything else?

They mix full motion video (green Screen) with 3D annimation models.
First Up is the good ole Vulture vs Hunted turn Hunter.
Next Up is the good Ole Dave School Final Project:

As for something a bit better, in anime we have Evangelion, macross, patlabor and gundam for full size mechs.
If you want a more elemental style throw a dart at the anime rack, but i would recomend eather version of appleseed.
If you don't mind sitting through a movie for 1 or 2 not quite mech scenes then there are Matrix 2 & 3 (yeah i know leave me alone), Avatar, starship troopers 2/3 (can't remember but one has mechs in) or District 9 that i can think of. Personally i would watch the last one its a good movie and the only one with death by flying pig in it.
You can't count transformers its not mech and has less plot than twilight although it is very pretty.

The actual Battletech Live action movie was started and stopped around 4 times. with 3 different studios if I remember, I actually saw the animation testing for one once but they ended up using that in the mechwarrior cartoon which si the only thing we really have from BT.

The only thing I can understand why Hollywood wouldn't hop on the opportunity is the general ignorance of the BT universe. Hopefully this game solves that.

However, the best Giant Robot show I have ever seen? I would have to go with either Gundam Seed, Macross Zero, or Macross Plus.
Personally, I like Macross Zero. They updated the look of the VF-1, and better still there was a Soviet counterpart so we can have human vs human in Valkyrie vs Valkyrie combat.
I would also give a shout out to Armored Trooper Votoms as well. I haven't seen the show fully, but the war scenes depict the mechs very realistically, including a D-day landing scene. Votoms became the basis for the Canadian sci-fi game Heavy Gear as well.
**** However, like most Japanese war anime the plot will usually come down to how terrible war is on the human mind (aka the characters all show signs of PTSD), and for some reason teenage girl pop singers are far more important than they ought to be.
Given a choice, I would love to see a show with the plot of Gundam Seed with the equipment of Macross/Mospeada. I'm not truely interested in aliens, so a big war between human political factions with super soldiers and their crazy war machines sounds more my style, and I prefer my "fighters" to actually transform into proper fighters.
Gundam Seed Destiny with their Orb Union transformers, the Murasame machines are my favorite.

It became our favorite Pen-and-Paper RPG because we could run around in cool machines, and have no parental/governmental supervision in our magical technological post apocalypse, Mad-Max-with-railguns-and-nuclear-powered suits of armor.
The "realistic" bits are the fact the armor stands up while flying, a much more comfortable position than flying with your head looking up all day like superman, and has a railgun firing bullets instead of pew-pew laser beams.
Besides, who doesn't want to run around in a death's head helmet in blue-black armor trying to save the world by shooting anything that doesn't belong here (just don't ask questions if they were actually harmless or not, because the secret police will take you away for re-education).
