One of the devs has already stated that they'd like to keep them locked in order to respect the Clans.. but I was really looking forward to being able to outfit the clan camos with different colors - plus, it takes away any uniqueness from the mechs, save the small patches we can actually change. I think some very interesting designs could be made using these camos, and we would all still know what faction camo any mech is using.

Restricting it to 1 channel which covers a tiny portion of the mech is poor, extremely poor.
In the end what is the point of using a faction camo? The main faction identity tends to come from the colours used and we get full unlocks from the faction colours.
So I reiterate, what is the point of using a faction camo?
This is a very poor design choice I'm afraid PGI, you really need to reconsider this. I was fully expecting to be able to change the colours on the IS Davion spec I would be using to be primarily white with additional red and blue but it looks like it won't be able to.
I will be forced to adopt one of the other camo specs, for which I would have to pay MC for...
...which I won't be doing.
Seriously, please reconsider your decision and unlock all of the colour channels for faction camos. It really does make them nearly completely useless unless we can respec them.

So was I but I believe it's coming "soon".
I wonder how many of us have been duped into buying this pre-order content for something we can't actually use.
Not that it was totally intentional, just that the details were never laid out clearly enough, especially, very much especially the lack of colour channels open to us.

Just not good enough imo.

Completely agree. Screw the Clans, I want customization. As it stands now I have 4 patterns I WILL NOT be using unless I can change the colors. That is not what I thought I was buying so I am really kind of annoyed by it.

Absolutely
100%
agree
I pre-ordered camos, not a pre-selected paint scheme.
I have already put up a post without reply about this whole thing and I'm trying to be calm but I'm slowly becoming wound up about the whole thing and to be honest I want answers from PGI.

At the end of the day it's no skin off my nose, if you're not going to allow faction camo customisation then I will refund my Resistance Wrath pre-order, simple as that.

I'm hoping that this was a decision on PGI's part rather than a coding issue. If it's the former then we can make it known that we would prefer to change the colours and hopefully PGI can make steps to change it.
PGI has been really good lately and I have faith that they'll at least address this issue.
