Confirmed by Russ, Urbanmech preorder to "test the water." $20 for the standard pack, $40 for the "collector pack." Starting January 20th.

Confirmed via Town Hall are new variants for all clan mechs, barring the Hellbringer.

The Dire Wolf DWF-S with Jump Jets...

Timber Wolf TBR-D also mentioned. Loads of missile hardpoints.

They will only be available via the gift store for the first month or so as well.

Part of me likes the Timber will get to boat missiles without the silly JJ tax anymore with the Alt D sides. On the other hand, that might not be the best for balance given how powerful the mech already is...

The Mist Lynx D 1B arm addition makes me cry. That's like a bad joke.

But... Urbanmech!

I think the missiles are in the arms, so you lose energy weapons.

Nope, it's side torsos.

It does lose the RT E slot; but I guess some don't do that. S CT for a JJ.

Though I'll be sad when I see quad LRM15+As again. Such a bad loadout for a good robot.

I personally preferred to use 4 LRM10 for derping around instead for...obvious reasons.

Quad LRM15 Timbie is gonna be back? Not sure if the forums can handle that without massive QQ rain. You don't even need Artemis for that.

With the TBR-C, 5 E hardpoints should be enough with CERMLAS.

If you wanted to run a CERSLAS build, it would have been nicer to keep the LT E hardpoint as well, but that 4th ASRM 6 is a great firepower boost and worth it.

Honestly I used to run it with just 4x CERMLAS and that was sufficient, at the moment I run it like this.

I'm not sure I get the point of the new summoner variant... we could already do that with the current pods. tell me I'm missing something ?

nope, You missed the memo, PGI hates Summoners. You see Russ was killed by a warlock in WoW once, when he summoned a bunch of monsters. So any time Summon is mentioned he just gets grumpy, so the Summoner was given the shaft.

the new clam variants dont really add anything worthwhile to justify their price tbh. The closest is the JJ DW, and thats also the most expensive. Looks like im going to be waiting on a cbill release for once:P

I agree that the new variants aren't worth it. The Kitfox, Ice Ferret arms add a little more firepower to each, but I will wait until they are available for c-bills.

The Dire's jump jets and high mounted energy are solid. The Stormcrow and Gargoyle arms add a lot of potential firepower. The Timber is good if you want missile hard points without being stuck with jumpjets. It is just mostly an improved omnipod for each mech, while the Summoner, Adder and Nova continue to look sad.

Overall, none are really worth the cash... So I will just play the waiting game.
