CW is/was supposed to be a major pillar of the game, as such, it would seem a sound decision to maintain a high resource commitment to the development and feature enrichment of CW content.

I don't feel we can afford to leave CW in an early iteration limbo for too long as dev resources go toward other partial/early iteration releases of arguably less important content.

CW needs to rapidly become a truly in-depth, fleshed out, immersive theater of war. You have to get the house up before you worry about curb appeal. That means logistics faction controlled objective selection, logistics, more maps, more maps, more maps, diverse objectives, faction oriented/asymmetrical objectives, resource management, asymmetrical engagements(12 max, but at the very least, the ability to defend with the less if that's all you got...even attack with less if you so desire, even if attacking with less than 12 can only result in contention/logistical disruption, not full capture.)

I know Steam is a desirable venture for the game, but we need to have CW in full swing, rocking and rolling with vibrant participation and 24hr relevancy of matches first.

Dev resources need to remain squarely on content that improves CW: in-game comms, maps, mechs, logistics, objectives, improved capture mechanics for at least the remainder of 2015. The commitment to CW dev should be comparable to the years of Deathmatch dev we've already endured...we can't lose focus and spread game dev too thin. We are better off with one 1-2 really in-depth, fleshed out modes, than 3-4 partial/early iteration abortions.

Pretty sure they've said the exact same thing. I think it was in the January vision brief that Russ mentioned getting the game optimized and CW as tight as possible - not to mention the new user experience - before hitting Steam.

Hitting Steam at the wrong time can be a death sentence (RE: Hawken)

Fully with you, CocoaJin. A proper Community Warfare is the hero we need and deserve - people willing to farm cbills for mechs in the solo queue will be happy enough doing that while a real game mode is fleshed out for the rest of us. We absolutely need for CW to be a heavy draw, and quickly.

Frankly I'd like another update from Russ in the roadmap as to progress, but that should happen in another week or so as we head into February. What they're planning on bringing to the table next month could be vital.

I agree with your opinion, but don't want to rush development. ;)

Either make it as good as a player run planetary league would be, or just make it into a game type. If it doesn't have depth, its not really CW.

I remember them saying this before, but it seems the last Roadmap and/or Town Hall began to suggest the diversion of resources toward other non-CW projects geared toward the Steam release, correct if I'm wrong, but it sounds like they want to do a Steam release this Summer...I can't say I'm convinced CW can be where it needs to be by then, not because I don't trust PGI will put in the effort, I'm just not sure it's enough time to flesh it out to where it needs to be.

One concern I have is the PvE project. If it's focus is as a single player campaign mode, then I'm concerned it will draw needed resources from expediting CW's development(if it will not, then carry on). I would embrace PvE content if it's to add content to CW, such as a supply interdiction/escort modes that allows us to impact logistics as PvE or PvE content with potential PvP encounters.
