UAV or NARC. Neither are shown in your HUD. It baffled me time and again how some people never look up to search for UAVs when they get perma shot by LRMs. Now I'm beginning to understand...

Yes, you can tell when its working too. There is a high-pitched electronic sound and your cockpit flashes for a sec whenever an enemy loses a lock on you. With Rader Derp this should happen pretty much immediately when you take cover.

Im no noob. You never move backwards with LRMs, you move left to right. I was moving around the center of Caustic.

No UAV, no TAG, no NARC, no spotter. Locks lasted for over 3 seconds. I didnt die, just got my armor stripped.

Defense modules are a waste of cbills!

so the choices are...

1. you are mistaken and you were in fact spotted or UAV'd or TAG'd or NARC'd

or

2. The go to module for most players is completely broken and worthless, and you are the only one who has noticed...

hmm...

Radar Deprivation has been working for me. If I break lock the missiles hit at my "last known location" so often I only have to move a few meters to avoid them. Occasionally I will hear a missile inbound alert after I have broken LOS and am no longer targeted, but that is because BB is very slow on the announcement (it is not unusually for her to announce during or after the hit).

However if I move and realize that I am still targeted (cockpit strobe), then I know I need to get behind hard-cover. Then look for the UAV or spotter who has eyes on me.

Kinda funny when people QQ about LRMs they often say newbies do not have access to 6 million C-Bills for Radar Derp. Well, **** son, ATD module is also 6 million, so deal with it.

Multiple games in a row where LRM mechs do not have LoS and no spotters are around yet they are continually hitting my mechs well after the normal 3-5 seconds of target retention. Its almost to the point of why did I waste 12m on two Radar Derp modules when I could have used the Cbills on offence combat modules? I played mechs without Radar Derp and notice ZERO differences between the two.

Also, if missile turrets supply locks for other turrets, if Im behind cover and the missile turret doesnt have LoS, why do they continually shoot until I am out of LoS of the Laser turrets? Shouldnt the missile turrets loose locks when I have Radar Derp on? Or is because Laser Turrets lock on targets?

IMO its more Cbill efficient to spend them on offense modules rather than defensive ones. Its frustrating that this game feels soo damn buggy while its been out of "beta" for soo long.

Hmmmm.... I have noticing some weird stuff with ECM mechs.
I am not sure whether Laser/LRM turrets that now ignore ECM is supplying locks for LRM boats as well.

*The turrets ignore ECM thing was done recently.

I was out of range of NARC and you cant be tagged through big ass rocks......The enemy mechs were in-front of me.

I think I figured out what it was. I tested the theory between my Thor and 3D. The occurrence kept happening when I was in my 3D, Crow or TBR. All three of them have the cockpit lower down on the mech. My Thor and other mechs all have a high mounted cockpits(Cent, KTO, Griff). So I would see through the cockpit that I was behind cover but there were parts of my mechs still hanging out above my view screen. Meaning I didnt have LoS of the enemy mechs but they still had LoS.
