Dissapointment: Timber Wolf , Dragon Slayer.

Pleasant surprise: Boars Head and Huggin....my best moneymaker mechs since day 1.

Amusingly, I bought a BJ-3 as my second mech ever back when they first came out, (around May 2013) and hated it. It was slow, fragile, and felt like it overheated after just a couple shots. Not knowing any better, I sold it and stopped playing the game for almost 6 months.

Fast forward to December. After playing the game heavily from February 2014 on, I gave Blackjacks another try because the Arrow was on sale. I liked the Arrow, found the BJ-3 to be "okay," but absolutely LOVE the BJ-1X. High mounted 2xLPL+4xML for 42 point alphas? Death moves at 116.8kph baby.

I have to look at this in a few ways. I play at low frame rates but like to mix it up.

The Griffion 3M, I thought well there is a good SRM boat, but also a good bouncy jump LRMery mech also. this is my go to mech to have fun in or to grind c-bills with.

The awesome 8T I was like well at least I got it to basic so that I can master other variants and 27 matches later it was mastered. Then I realized the two LRM 15 and two LL combination was rocking.

Love: Wolverine, all 3 variants: such a fugley machine with low slung guns but they are very cool with their amazing quirks. Wish I could redesign its head...

Hate: None yet - I always find that unique build which suits my play style! but I loathed levelling the Stalkers apart from the N.

I never thought i'd actually like centurions. After the re-introduction of the CN9-AH, i decided to give that chassis a go... boy its fun... i'm loving the ac20/3xsrm4 combo... i can actually face tank direwolfs in it.

But my all time love... is the atlas. The only and only mech i was piloting before the clans since the close beta.

Same config! I facetanked a gargoyle and dire wold in it alone once
Great match

The Adder.
Haven't heard much good about it and rarely if ever see it on the field. But then I was looking for a new Mech to master and thought "wth, lets try this thing" and choose the trial mech and took it for a spin in testing grounds. A few minutes later I was proud owner of a brand new Adder Prime outfitted with two C-ER-PPC's in the torso slots and a total of 16 heatsinks.

I bought the phoenix package because I thought I'd really like the locust, since I loved the pre-nerf machine gun spider. I kept getting one-shotted by anyone and everyone and went back to my spiders.

Eventually I went back to the locusts and happened to have enough MC left over to grab a Pirate's Bane. It's my favorite mech now. :)

The vulture is one of my favorite mechs, but man have I sucked in it in all the games.

You're preaching to the choir! Once they're quirked they'll be op!

Same feels here-- it was the first mech i played. Decent in the SHS era... but didn't stand to the test of time. Yet to try it quirked, though.

Everything you learn about torso twisting goes out the window in this mech since everything hits the CT.

I want to like to!

Since I didn't like the CDA-X5 at all, but wanted the CDA-3M elited real bad, I decided to buy the CDA-2A, basic it and sell it as fast as I can. Didn't anticipate it to become one of my favourite mechs.

Since I loved the SHD-5M back in 2013, I thought i'd also like the Grey Death, but Sparky ruined Ballistic mechs for me, and I can't get myself to not use the high mounted torso ballistic hardpoint so I can't get this mech to consistently perform well for me.

Never would have thought i'd love the locust, but I do.

Was hugely disappointed by Victors. Even in the poptart meta I never did well with them. Dishonorable mention goes to Orions, another one I can't get to work for the life of me. i do better in Quickdraws!

Shadow Hawk 2K. When it was announced I was expecting it to be mediocre as far as Shads go, but in practice it turned out to be the best overall variant (for a while at least) and became my favorite Inner Sphere mech to ever be in this game.

I adore orions! It's like a hunchback and an atlas had a baby!

I remember we all wanted an Awesome Hero Mech (79% agreed, quite rare), but we got Pretty Baby. And it should be mentioned that the load-out of Pretty Baby is not mentioned in Battle Tech so it's load-out is apocryphal and could have been anything, but you would think it would be similar to the other Awesomes and not a medium mech. And it gets Large Laser quirks? While the TDR-9S gets 3xERPPC quirks?

...and, yes the PPC had no minimum range when the PB was released.

Didnt think I'd love my Wuberine-6K, found I enjoyed my Dragon-1N more than I thought I would.

I thought I would like the Cataphract for the dakka factor. But no. It just didn't do enough for me. Kinda boring really. I just felt like a giant easy to hit circle with guns on it.

A mech I thought I would not like due to lack of armaments, durability and heat management is the Centurion. The idea to try one was forced on me though, as I was gifted a non-sellable Cent by PGI for being a founder.

My god! With the quirks it is just so fun to play though. I run all 3 of my variants with XL engines, their quirked weapon of choice, and I changed their missiles from lrm 10 to double srm 4 with artemis. SO GOOD. I can even make good use of the LBX10 variant no problem.

This is the first time I'm seriously considering maxing out all variants AND keeping all three of them.

I only keep one Raven as I think the others would be redundant in terms of weaponry and my play style, which is brawling. Would love a Huggins though if anyone wants to give me one. :)

I also only have my founders Atlas and the one PGI gifted me. I will buy a D-DC next.

I'm hoping I like the firestarter and king crab variants as those are what I plan on playing after I max out the incoming D-DC.
