Should PGI make a console port of this game?
ummmm...lolno.
It would take time and effort away from the already lackluster PC version. While its currently more fitting of a console game in terms of depth and overall quality, no, they should not. it would just lead to a terrible version of both.
Should Pgi Make...

Well on the plus side, ports tend to be farmed out to other developers. PGI wouldn't be doing the porting.

Well, it would still probably take funds out of the PC Version to pay for the port, so just no....
Let PGI press forward and improve the PC version......

even if you port... beside te graphics issue, this would be a prime example of a game that needs to be dumbed down.
Not because xbox players are dumb like a bucket full of red sand... you know, there are just younger and all
But to actually control the game.
Just think about 6 weapon groups plus alpha strike. no way to manage that with a controller.
After that comes the Mechlab. Anybody remembers the forums when we saw the first UI2.0? all went nuts on "it's a console UI!" and if you looked closer you can't even use that without a mouse, no shortcuts, no keybourd input, nothing.
And in the very end, even if you release on XBox, I'll bet one of my UrbanMechs that you won't play together with PC players.
Maybe they'll get MechAssault Online some day, but MWO? I doubt that.

I don't know about taking funds away either. Microsoft would just hire another developer to make it and PGI would probably provide assets. The only way it would take money from PGI's pockets is if people went to the console version instead of the PC version.
In any case, it won't happen anyway. Mechwarrior is too risky (despite it's past success). Only bro shooters succeed on consoles.

Grrrgh. I just imagined me trying to sort through the UI2.0 Mechlab with a console controller - i'm like a barely trained ape on those. Now i can't the get the image and the feeling of despair out of my head.
Btt: Dunno. The sharp divide between console mashers and the haughty PC gaming crowd has been watered down over the years, for better or worse; and the complexity of controls in MWO isn't hardcore in itself. It's not like trying to port Rise of Flight.
So; i'd welcome the influx of new players, but it would be an additional burden on balancing.
