Suggested "point" For Domination And Conquest: Like A Champions

Currently to score a point you have to get:

1 or more kill, 1 or more kill, win the match.

I would like to propose a different algorithm depending on the game mode to score a point:
  • Skirmish
1 kill, 1 assist, win the match.
  • Domination
1 or more capture a node (transition it from red to blue ), 1 or more assist, win the match.
  • Assault
1 or more destruction of a turret, a point (transition it from red to blue ), 1 or more assist, win the match.


This would reinforce the gaming mechanics of each game mode. Thoughts??

Regardless of the actual mechanics, it would be nice that the points reflect the flavour of the game mode selected.

I see what you're trying to do and I support the general principle. Unfortunately, I think the gameplay would suffer. For example, there would be no incentive to defend in Conquest or Assault. You're getting into a "tragedy of the commons" situation where people will risk losing the match in order to achieve the goals they personally need to get a point. Similar to how people sometimes lost the match because they were powering down and hiding when survival was necessary to get a point.

I personally believe the game modes are fundamentally flawed, and it's hard to make a chicken salad from chicken sh**.

Perhaps it would be better to award a point for EITHER a base cap / turret destruction OR a kill / assist. But even that could potentially lead to silly gameplay.

are there enough turrets?

I still think they should use match score. That is a nice number and shows your work in a match.

Everything else should be for new achievements only. I liked that "phoenix down", even if very simple. Those "fun" achievements are the best, to be true.
