I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, i just built a new computer witha i7-4790 k and msi gtx 970 4g. I installed mwo and turned on dx11 since before I had old rig with dua core and gtx 260 and was only able to use dx 9 i was excited to beable to run it on dx11. Now at first evrything was fine but after a few days i noticed that when I launch the game (the point where you log in and loads the mechlab) the screened flashes black. The only way to get out of its to control alt delete or alt tab, then by selectin the mwo window i can continue playing. This only happens on dx 11 if i switch it to dx 9 its fine. but i really want to beable to use dx 11 I was hoping someone knew how to fix this.

This happens to me, too...it didn't used to. I've switched back to DX9 in the meantime...and occasionally get memory allocation errors on my computer with 32 GB of memory...sigh.
Any update on a fix for this?

Greetings all,
Did you check to insure your running the correct 'Flash' updates? 32 and 64bit use different codex.
- I think the two videos that are played, MWO and Nvidia, are flash movies. May need the correct version.
Are you running the 32bit or 64bit client?
- 32bit can't use any 'additional' RAM memory.
Changing some settings in MWO will not 'set' until you restart the client, starting in DX9 and changing to DX11 is one.
Just some ideas,

I'm running the 64-bit Client. When I switch to DX11 and then restart the client, it is upon restart that the screen flashes irregularly...and only goes away with repeated alt-tabbing...every time. It's very odd.

Greetings all,
Before the game switch to DX11, while still in 9 mode, can you reduce the games screen resolution then try the Dx11 mode?
- See if the screen size in 11 mode or the additional settings 11 brings change/eliminate the flickering.
- Additionally: Just as a off chance here, are you running the game in Admin mode?
(some changes to your system can only be done with admin authority, changing the screen size 'on the fly' may be one of these.)
Side note here: The last video driver update you've done.
- Just a normal update install or did you select the 'option' clean install?
- Win 7 has Dx11 imbedded in the install, but changing to 64bit may require an update to those drivers.
(have you reinstalled DX11 while in 64bit mode? There are quite a few 32bit items that need upgrading when the 64bit change happens)
Advise what happens,

Same thing happens to me as well. DX11 only (DX9 is fine). Happens with both 32 and 64 bit clients. Running Windows 7 with an AMD hd7970. Been like this for several months.

This happens to me in DX11 upon starting the game. NOT during the video, after I log in. Also happens in both DX9 and 11 if I go afk and the computer tries to turn my screen off or activate the screen saver.
Running an Radeon HD7770 (I know, sad right?)

Greetings all,
Alex just posted a response and fix for the crash's and also mentioned there has been a long standing issue with 'Flash' and how the game handles and uses it.
- See here:

We'll see after the Hot Fix if this resolves all or some of your issues.
