Title speaks for itself. I'm a die hard fan of Mobile Suit Gundam, while I enjoy almost all of them, there are a select few I shy away from. At the end of the day, my heart lies with the 08th MS team in terms of favorite series. Mostly because it demonstrates the universe from a grunts perspective. The Mobile Suits aren't these hyper powered god machines, and there's an equal focus on the characters as there is on the machines. Interested? Then take a quick look at this video which celebrates the 08th MS teams debut as a blue ray collection.

Gundam Universal Century I like. That is, those Gundam series that follow the original universe set by Mobile Suit Gundam, not those alternative universe series like Gundam Wing, Gundam Seed, Gundam 00. Although I know there are plenty of fans for Seed, Wing, 00 etc,. But then I am also a purist, I like the way the social and technological issues are portrayed in the shows that follow the Gundam UC that make it rise above a "mech" show into a serious science fiction universe. And the characters are just iconic especially Char Aznable and Lalah.

The next one are the Armored Core universes. This franchise is so deep in atmosphere, imagery and bad assery. I don't think they can ever do an anime of Armored Core because you simply cannot express how bad ass Armored Core is even with anime. The universe is deep with its own legends and lore, Ravens and Lynxes so bad ass like Nine Ball and White Glint.

Also bring attention to these universes.

The Heavy Gear universe. I really like this and its gritty style.

The Starsiege universe (precursor to Tribes). Starsiege has a sense of desperation that I really love about mechs desperately fighting overwhelmingly powerful godlike/alien/overlord enemies for the survival of the species.

Front Mission. I like earthbound mecha universes especially when its much closer to our present, as they tend to invoke a greater sense of realism and social messagery.

I don't think I have one, most other "robot genre" do not port the giant and stompy at all.

good example:

while being rather bif transformers aren't stompy enough, like most other japanese robot series. they are all very fased paced transporting human behavior into the robot genre making them not stompy anymore. Probably the reaosn why I like MWO most as the gaming version of robots stomping, they are the only real stomping ones.

Robotech here too.. I really wish we could have the Phoenix Hawk LAM or even just a Phoenix Hawk in MWO. Sometimes I hate Harmony Gold.

Pacific Rim appealed to me. It's a good alternative to BT. I just wish we could have seen more of that 3 armed Crimson Typhoon Jaeger in action.

YEAH 08th MS team ftw. I enjoyed 00, but absolutely hated Seed/Seed Destiny. I have been rewatching the originals lately, and I still love them.

Armored Core is another favorite, something about the last boss of Armored Core 5: Verdict Day still gets to me, probably because it's based off of White Glint, and harkens back to the original Armored Core and veers away from the over powered Lynx's.

Gundam 00 is my favorite Gundam series. I like the storyline and how each Gundam has a specialized design and role, rather than the typical boring one-Gundam-beats-all-at-everything trend. That got boring fast.

Armored Core is my favorite game series for all the reasons previously mentioned.

Also... Aldnoah Zero. Go watch it.

I love the classics. Just something so bad ass heavy metal with them. Good old Go Nagai's Super Robots.

The Ultimate evolution of Mazinger. It keeps getting darker, more brutal. Not enough just to destroy an enemy robot with lazers, you got to rip it open.
