The US Navy will be showing off the new railgun designed by BAE at an expo in Washington DC in a few days.

The above is said railgun's munitions being fired and hitting things- which happens to travel a bit past Mach 6, reaches a range 100 nautical miles and as the pic above shows, does a very good job of putting holes in whatever gets in the way.

Who says we have to wait a few centuries for those naval gauss rifles? :)
