Dear PGI,
all my Highlanders stand in my garage with a lot of dust and rust on them because in the quirk age you seem to just forgot about them at all. I dont need the poptarts back, but something has to be done. There is a reason why you dont see them on the battlefield anymore. Slow, clumsy and compared to other chassis just plain useless by now.
Please make them work again!

Highlanders need to bury things. If Highlander's can't perform their signature Highlander burial, then you know you JJ system is flawed fundamentally in some way.

I'd like pop tarts back in a more mild form then before.

Hate to be the "bad" guy here, but, wth, Highlanders really are not (much) different then they were not so long ago (pre - quirks).
Highlanders really have not changed (much)
What HAS changed are
QUIRKS
Jump Jets
Many mechs got some outstanding quirks, some got mediocre quirks, some got little to no quirks. The Highlanders did not get any really outstanding quirks, so it SEEMS as many other mechs passed them by in their usefulness, because others got better quirks.
The Highlanders lack
Decent Quirks
Engine Size
Jump Jets
The quirks, well you can read them and determine for yourself
The Engine size (325 max, I think, if I remember correctly) keeps these giants lumbering and slow and not very 'quick' at turning / twisting.
The Jump Jets? I am not a backer of pop tarts, period. However, the 2 tons per vs what you get when you equip them is not good money (C-Bill) spent. This mech (currently) has the worst Jump Jet of the game, BUT, it is known for it's DFA? I mean, even if we had collision damage, it is doubtful on level ground with an enemy mech that you could jump high enough to actually attempt the DFA... I dont want to go deep into the Jump Jet arguement, there are already multitudes of threads about how terrible they are. My only point is that the Highlander suffered more than any other in the Jump Jet / nerf / tune down / whatever you want to call it. They were hit and hit extremely hard.
On the other hand, I have used my Highlanders (I do not own the Hero - and I could understand how those that do would be even MORE upset) off and on lately just to see how bad they were / are. I scored well. got kills, got assists. racked up some damage points. Basically, I had to play them slightly different than pre JJ adjustments. I will say it felt really funny running at top speed and getting passed by an Atlas... (-shakes head-) They Highlanders felt sluggish and really big not to mention slow. I still managed to do okay (for me), but they were not as much fun to play and I seemed to get stuck on every beer tab those steiners left on the battlefield....

@Vettie
I totally agree with your analyzes. All other mechs got some quirks to keep them up with the clan mechs, except for the highlander (and the CTF-3d, but that another story). And so the HGN was falling way behind. BTW i bought the Heavy Metal. Wasted money by now.
