House Marik: How We Win

1. Communication/Cooperation/Intel:
House Marik has been organizing faction drops with mixed unit, Mercs, and Lone Wolf Marik pilots for years. Many remember Monday Marik Madness, which was a long time weekly event for House Marik. Monday Marik Madness unintentionally prepared Marik pilots for mixed unit drops well before we were able to group up in mixed unit 12-man groups for CW. Most of our pilots have dropped together many times before CW ever came along helping us to get to know each other and play together as a team. We have a unified FWLM TS server that all of our units and most of our Mercs use daily. We regularly advertise our TS in CW matches to significantly reduce the number of people in our drops that are not on TS. Having CW all group members in TS is key to our success. This is the base level of communication needed to be successful, but it does not stop there.
In addition to Company level TS communication, our drop leaders (faction and Merc) are constantly communicating with each other during CW to share details about enemy groups, numbers attacking/defending each planet, etc. We decide where, when, and how to attack planets based on the information we are all collecting and sharing. Not only are we collecting intel within our faction companies, but we are also sharing and coordinating with our Merc units at the same time. We are constantly sharing intel with our Mercs as well as them sharing their intel with us. We have diplomats in several TS servers sharing and collecting intel that we use to coordinate our efforts. In many cases we know what 12-man groups have been doing when we see them in a CW match and we are constantly sharing details about what has been working or not working versus the various 12-mans. The end result of all of these efforts is a highly coordinated tactical effort and it makes us much more successful than some of our contemporaries. The bottom line is most Marik companies are 12 mans no matter what they appear to be in game and if you think you are fighting Marik PUGs when you see us, then that's exactly how we like it. TEAMWORK is at the core of the Marik Machine...not the "Zerg Rush."
2. Strong Leadership and Tactics:
We have several drop leaders that organize our PUGs into coordinated assault groups daily. If you think getting 12 pilots into a faction group is going to produce success, then you will not think that for long when they all quit after getting rolled once or twice. Having 12 people in a faction group does not make the group more effective unless their is a good leader with an attack plan that works and a group of pilots who are willing to follow orders. This brings us to the Light Rush (aka Zerg Rush). Why do we use it? Well that is simple...it works! We have no care or concern in debating with anyone about our tactics since we know what works we use it. We Mariks who are playing CW are in CW to take planets, not play Assault, Skirmish, or Conquest. We couldn't care less about all the grumbling and complaining from units that are losing to our tactics because they don't know how to defend against them. We know how to defend against the "Zerg Rush" and we do it successfully often. We win about half the time that we defend against the "Zerg Rush." It can be defended against for those who are willing to work on their tactics and adapt. Those who can't stop us either can't figure it out, are not willing to to figure it out, are not willing change their tactics, or are simply not organized enough. PUG groups have no chance of defending against a Marik 12-man faction group Light Rush and they regularly get stomped just like PUG groups that fight the Clans. It's really not any different in terms of the outcome and the loss is a normal outcome for PUGs. The main difference is that most of the time other faction's PUGs do not know they are not facing another PUG group. If you want to stop Marik, then do your homework and figure it out. There are a few 12-mans that have it down and know how to stop us...the thing to remember is that 12 Mariks from different units in a CW group are almost always a 12-man, not a mixed group of PUGs. If you fight us like PUGs you'll lose more often than not.

I thought it was sharing some good perspective on how this faction may have accomplished what they have accomplished. It's only missing one thing from what I can tell. Well written too. My vote would be, helpful, not gloating.

Our coms are automated and tied into the permissions of the website, housemarik.enjin.com , so register there, go to the forum, and there is a thread devoted to setting up your TS permissions. It's all automated, but if our advanced lostech TS HPG gives you any problems, we know who to talk to about fixing it.

I've seen BWC unable to breach the gates in their assaults at times lol. Also seen a few games where a full 12 BWC premade also almost lose to 12 pugs. Course Mariks don't actually practice fighting in their light rush zerg so not that surprising.
I actually can't think of a game where Mariks won vs a decently large group I was in by attrition, always been by light rush. Granted I spend most of my time on the northern border fighting Lords soooo.....I'd rather play skilled opponents.
