i wasnt aware that the can $ lost value due to the oil price fall. I wasnt even aware that it lost 20% in the last year. Thought it was until now 1,25. You know we as europeans dont care as much for can. Its somewhere in the peripherie :P Some here ecen recognize can as the 52nd us state hehe

Yea, oil companies be laying off lots of people in Alberta right now. It's looking like most of that remaining oil is gonna stay in the ground

On the one hand it sucks for the people losing jobs but on the other hand.... it looks like Terra Therma over there already with all the damage it's doing to the land

Yep. Even the falling dollar won't help Ontario manufacturing as much as it used to.

Mainly because all that's left in the province is a museum exhibit entitled "Ontario Manufacturing".

Historically, 1 CAD has always been worth less than 1 USD. It wasn't until 2007 where the CAD actually broke the 1:1 territory.

It's probably going to be that way for the foreseeable future.

Not true, back in I think it was the 70's the Canadain Dollar was worth 10 cents more than the American...

The one that really gets me, is that my company has to pay a 1017% anti-dumping fee (tax) on nuts and bolts, that was put in to protect a manfacture that went out of business 40 years ago...

That a nice way to say thx to your canadians customers "here pay 25% more"

I do hope all PGI employees are paid 25% more.

You can make a formal complaint to consumer affairs Canada. legally they have to take CAD. Substantial fines can be imposed on companies if found guilty.

It wasn't really an issue when the dollars were near par. But now that we're flirting with 80 cents US, we're basically paying 20% more than we were just a few months ago.

Ouch.

That should change real soon. Whats going on with the strong dollar can't last.

to be honest, we are not in the same situation. PGI is a Canadian company, but they enforce USD purchase only. They are not Brazilian company.

Your problem seems the currency exchange (tax) and the Canadian dollar value as well.
Seems like my problem but with a different currency.

They gain a lot more choosing USD over others.

That's why I love Steam.

EDIT: I would love if they change to Canadian dollar too, because it'll lower how much I need to pay (if they don't elevate the price). ;)

unless all they do is put the mwo downloader exe in there, with nothing else.

no steam ui overlay

Steam overlay works perfectly fine, just add the game to your steam library as a non steam game and run it from there, I use the steam overlay for the web browser all the time, especially useful for long CW waits and for the smurfy mechlab.

Also I feel your pain being an Australian at a point our dollar was on par with the USD but it has taken a dive down to 0.78USD. Buying the Arctic Cheetah pack cost for 30USD cost me 38AUD and if I want to get the 3mech hero urbanmech pack for 40USD its gonna cost me 51AUD...

Tis sad considering here I can buy an adult movie ticket for 7-8 dollars and a small Big Mac meal for 5 dollars....
