One of the reasons I left the game.

Let's hope the Ignore feature works better in MWO that it did in WoT.

Come on back, Dev's listened. More report options now for idiots who spam, insult, etc. with an in game ignore option as well.

With the viewpoint locked to the player you are ghosting with, and no over the shoulder view (ala WoT's Arcade view) staying in battle to help out will be a bit less useful than in WoT, but will make a fun ride. In WoT I only hang about if the battle was particularly close and will wrap soon. Otherwise it's out to another tank. From what I've read about MWO it looks like it will be the same. You can hang around as a ghost riding with your team, or return to the "garage".

I really hope for an option to pop out of the battle and into the mechlab.
I have no interest what-so-ever in watching other people play.

I am paying into this game to play it, not to sponsor other people to play it. Period.

Sure, allow me to watch if that is what I desire, but don't stick me there without an option to leave or penalize me for it. That would just add extreme amounts of unnecessary frustration.

Personally, I think there should be a chance that you punch out - ejection pod yadah yadah, but also a chance that you get trapped in the cockpit and burn to death or simply get crushed when your mech faceplants into a wall. That would be much more in line with the canon - in the novels ejection seems to be the exception rather than the rule. That way you can roleplay by shrieking "IT BURNS! IT BURNS...." down your voicecomm while your traumatised teammates listen in horror.

After that, yeah, 1st person spectate FTW.

Doesn't mean it should be happening here.

it doesn't have to but it will garented

Do we have confirmation of this? I surely hope not... I hope to see something like 30 minute abandon game timers or similar

I think they are referring to the game mode that gives you 3 mechs for the game not that you could leave the game and join a new one

II think it's time for a roleplaying/larp/sca quote "Shut up your dead"... lol though seriously no communications bwtween dead people and anyone else even other dead people. Info could still be used to cause problems. "my budy is dead were on comms and your feeding us info about your team locations.

if we are restricted to cockpits of our team mates then we can only see what they can so you wouldn't be giving away anything that they already know, if you could freely rome or look around yore teams mecks then it would be a problem.

I hope that you stay in the first person mode while your mech falls over dead or explodes, i dont like the whole showing you die in third person thing it takes away from the realism a little bit you know? Also when you die do you spectate? like one person and cycle through or do you have a free flying camera?

Dunno if it has been clarified, but I think OP meaned he wanted (and me myself) see your own death from the cockpit.. u know... flames breaching the cockpit, your arms trying to block them... then... black

and then the view from your lancemates.

It will surely rise the age at which u can access the game... but it will surely add realism and..... fear to loose... for sure

You quit the match and go to play the next one.

Also why do you need to die? You realise mechs have ejector seats =P

id saport a 3rd person option if it was from the perspective of you on the ground and you could run around really slowly compared to the mechs to represent you on foot and you could get squished by mechs or shot would be fun also limiting.

All of you that said you wanted to see yourself eject when you die are obviously not clanners, death before ejection.

You really think they're just going to leave you looking at a ground once dead while your allies fight off screen? Use some common sense. Naturally they will have dead players become spectators for the rest of the match. The question is how will it be done? Will it be first person spectator, third person, or total free range, or from fixed selectable camera positions from over the map. I hope they give us a third person view spectator on remaining allies so we can look at the Mech in addition to seeing the fight.

I think it will be done like all the other popular MMO games...
cameras on your live comrades

I personally am a BIG fan of teammates view while dead, for one if there's a spy on your team(hence not getting shot at and just leeching tonnage) it would then be apparent, if you are allowed to see them playing odd. There are many benefits to team view upon death and only a couple negative possiblites(Skype cross team comm). I meant what else is there to do while your wait for either respawns or rematch? If your not the type to enjoy watching the rest of your team fight for the W then an option to opt out and get back to mechlab would be a good option while you wait.

You don't. The video I watched from beta showed the player filming going into 3rd person as he watched his mech fall over.
