Firing lines sometimes get cluttered, I understand the issues we face on these maps with 12 people. However, sometimes people just need to take the time to learn how their mech is shaped, where their weapons really are. But please, when you test fire your weapons do it in a clear area not right down a well-traveled path with teammates in front of you.

[Redacted]

Anyway, just a polite request that people try to watch their fire. I know it's annoying when teammates walk in front of you, and I'm almost always the first to admit on voice comms that it's my fault I got friendly fired. However, sometimes it really is avoidable, and lately it seems to be a bit worse.

Unfortunately until the maps become larger and there are objectives this will never change. To make things worse people may not shoot you in the back but have a bad habit of blocking your reverse, or the opposite block the advance like in Terra Therma.

The game is too cluttered, hopefully 4vs4 drops will actually happen.

The best is when your in a Jenner running back to your team with a baddies in tow you turn the corner and your own assault lance annihilates you with AC 20's and PPC's :o(

Happened more than once unfortunately. Apparently they are color blind.

My favorite thing is when you have your AC/20 all nice and lined up with the enemies deep red CT, you take the shot, and out of nowhere a friendly jenner dives in front of the already fired shell and explodes.

Try having a Firestarter run in front of you when you're in the middle of discharging 4 gauss at an enemy mech.

Fools run in front of you specifically to block your fire and steal your kill, particularly when game events are going on. I've given up holding fire and have instead opted to shoot through them. If they're ignorant enough to stand in front of a mech engaged in combat then obviously they are more focused on being greedy than supporting the team and as such are detrimental to the team.

@Graugger
No..... That's not how it works... That makes YOU look like the bad guy then... Let them take the initial shots meant for the target.. but don't keep firing...

Yeah, I always try to watch out, and if i do so, I say I'm sorry. Least to say if you get shot on purpose... I WILL SHOOT YOU.

LOL happened again, bringing back 2 lights and a medium from the platform over the saddle in Crimson Straits, 2 direwolves there, both open up on me and I turn into molten metal at their feet.

I will admit I crowd the big guys on the field. I do try and fix that habbit. Still though, one match I found myself almost cored due to a cataphract not watching his fire. I get it in a light I am small. I was slow and threading the needle with my medium laser. The guy just shoots his ballistics, turn around he still was. Fine I will move. Mind you providing ECM and recieving freindly fire is not cool. Just gotta be aware of your suroundings and your teammates.

This is what the testing grounds is for, no one should EVER be testing at the start of a match.

Sometimes team damage comes from running in front of your team mates as well. I've seen light mechs run and park in front of a dual AC/20 crab that is in a battle already. Didn't end well to be sure.

Well, sometimes you just wanna see how your heat is on a particular map, and I can understand not memorizing exactly what it is for each map. Other times you are just creating muscle memory for your weapon groups - I know I sometimes do that when I switch between a few mechs.

Depends on the skill of the Crab and light pilot tbh. I position myself according to my size and weapon placement, so if I'm a light I can fit in front of a Crab without blocking his weapons, which makes for a better firing line. Or, if I'm a Wubverine, I can position almost entirely behind someone with only my right arm peeking around their right side.

When a teammate shoots me at the start and does not apologize, I say and do nothing at that moment. The moment the action starts is when I return the favor with a couple of taps and leave at that.

I dual gaussed our Raven that way yesterday. He warned the team Mud is a Possible TK but when I explained he crossed before I could stop the shot he was good and said so. A lot of times in an assault like the crab you cant see them till they are right in front of the gunsight. Any thing else you can veer off and mitigate the damage but not the gauss.

My biggest peeve is how many stop on ramps in front of you to take a shot then just sit there for another. Catapult pilots seem to be the worst for this with those big stinking ears.

Let me put it like this - I am not willing to be cored by an enemy mech cause I can't shoot him when another mech walks in front of me to block my fire then the enemy's shot with all the weird hit boxing passes through him and hits me. If the enemy's shots can pass through my teammates and not damage them why can't mine???

Just remember Murphy's combat laws...

Friendly Fire, isn't.

When the enemy is in range, so are you...

If only we lived in a better world, friendly fire incidents would end up like this:

But instead, we have egos and a "eye heart for an eye" approach. :\

Sometimes, you just have to face-hug an opponent to get the most out of your weapons (esp. with SRMs), but please, please don't fling your mech, whatever it may be, into your ally's stream of triple UAC5's that are pounding the enemy to death, just bc you want to wub-wub kiss them a bit with your small pulse lasers. I know you need to be close, but not so close you can give them tongue.
