I am wondering if there will be a hero sale on anytime soon, as I am interested in the Muromets.

I already have the 3D - and I love it.

Would the Mastery pack be worth it? or would it be better to just buy the IM and another cata and master them for cheaper, since I already have the 3d?

we just had one a few weeks ago I think.

the Ilya is a fantastic mech. I think it depends on if you want all the Cataphracts (all good or decent) or if you just want the Ilya.
if you just want the Ilya it would likely be better to just buy the Ilya.

And what other CTF is similar to the 3D?

I am thinking of getting the 2X or the 4X.

It depends on how fast you want that mech or if you just buy another cbill variant and wait. Last hero mech sales aren't long ago so I would guess you'll have to wait a month or two at least for the next, but who knows.

I bought it for full price back in the day and for me it was worth it. Until the arrival of the king crab, the ilya was my goto money maker with dual gauss and 3 ML. Can't be wrong with that. And there are tons of alternative builds.

3D is the only one with Jumpjets.

When I was leveling them up, the 2x seemed to work better for me than the 4x.

The 2x doesn't have the low engine cap that the 4x does and SRM's worked well on the left arm, so you can build a pretty powerful setup that still has some good mobility.

As far as it being XL friendly, not really sure, there is always that point of speed where you go fast enough and you'll always be losing torso's first, go too slow and you'll get CT cored easier. CTF is one of those where it doesn't seem to matter if you use XL or standard engines, they always do about the same. Survivability is about the same.

I bought a crap ton of heroes last sale... 25% MC sale + 35% hero sale...

For me buying the IM was totally worth it (full price). It made me spacerich.

The Pirate's Bane has pretty much paid for itself in c-bills relatively quickly. But I'm also a Locust pilot, so my judgment might need to be questioned.

Ilya with 3 LB10's and 3 ML's may not be the best build out there but the BOOM, BOOM, BOOM of the LB's in rapid succession and watching those pellets slam a mech is worth every penny

I might buy the Jester if it's ever on a 90% sale. And the Sparky, perhaps. This game is getting old, 50% discount for old mechs is still not enough.
