This game is so unstable and has been for so long. Why isn't this fixed yet? It crashes during the loading screen, when the queue pops a game, and now even in the middle of a game in progress. Meanwhile, my computer and all other programs run perfectly stable and fast. I am running in 64-bit mode as well. This is like closed beta issues at most, and this is version 1.3.xx. TERRIBLE, PGI, just terrible.
Why don't they yet realize ECM is a major balancing factor? This game concept comes from a table top game, made and balanced long ago for that platform. It is being converted to an FPS platform. There will be inherent compatibility issues. PGI can not hide behind the TT rules when convenient and act like they are zealously sticking to what has already been established. I am not familiar with the TT version myself, but I have learned enough to know it has already been mutilated. When it comes to the electronic warfare, my understanding is there is some E3 item or mech that plays a huge role, and ALL mechs could equip ECM. This has been altered to make the game what it is now.
If PGI is going to alter the game in what ways are convenient, DO A BETTER JOB! Learn to balance the game! And WHY would anyone design mechs with the direct fire weapons 30 ft below the cockpit? You can see your target, but you can't shoot it!!
Why are there invisible walls around every single object?
When there is rubble, girders, tilted landscapes, you can see your target through the gaps, but you can not fire through them or even as much as 5 feet off to clear side of it! Your shot is absorbed by nothing! If I can't shoot the target, I don't need to see it! FALSE LINE OF SIGHT. HOWEVER, if your shot is .001" off a mech out the in open, guess what?! YOU MISS!!
PGI, WHY is there this inconsistency?!
The entire UI sucks from mechlab to gameplay. It needs a massive overhaul.
There is also no system for tracking, identifying, handling friendly fire.
Most of the maps are poorly designed in pathing, inadequate cover, size, and forcing teams to be crowded together.
Minimap and main map have no coordination or correlation to each other. Why can't we see our spawn locations on the loading lobby map?
Why would I want to search for private matches when I hit the "Play Now" button? It's not a "Play after these questions" button. All personal settings need to be set once in preferences or have a drop down arrow next to the button.
In conclusion, PGI needs to do some serious research. Expand your horizon. Look at other FPS games, ANY of them, they all do something better in some area compared to this game. I will not spend another dime on this game until I see some competent action.
I know no PGI official will read this post, it just feels better to have it out there. Flame at will.
