whats the point of having an assault if a medium or light can mount the same weapons??? the only advantage that the assaults have is ... maybe armour(even if u have armour its not that effective when 2 mediums come at u with cuac5/10s or 3 er ppcs)



assaults are just useless u cant even assault becouse u get cored in the first 3 seconds of engagement true... in this game assaults are ment to snipe not fight ...

Trust me, that was an entirely valid response.

This isn't a question. This is statement about a single person dying to two people. What purpose does a medium serve if two assaults come up next to it?

You're asking about the usefulness of packing a huge amount of firepower into a single player slot. There isn't anything that can be said that you don't already know.

As a friendly warning, I'd prep the flame shield.

20 tons of armor and 30-40 tons of guns sound good to me
Though i can play assaults for ****, i get focused and cored in seconds.Mediums and heavies is where it's at for me.

i know that assaults are useless piles of crap(slow crap) and that they shuld be renamed to mech that are totaly worthles

once u get targeted ur just to slow to move out of that fire so its useless when u get cored in the first seconds of engagement

That's why you have smaller mechs with you........let the underlings take the first salvo then peek out and rek face for a bit

Lets rename 'assault' class to 'super heavy'!
So you can do NOT assault enemys and just kill them like all other people!

Assaults aren't built for taking damage. Their sole purpose is to control the battlefield in a narrow cone in front of them with horrifying amounts of firepower.

Their survivability depends either on their access to cover, or their ability to kill their opponents first. All that extra armour does is give you the edge in even one-on-one exchanges, or maybe an opportunity to get to nearby cover if you are under fire.

It always makes me chuckle when people demand that assaults lead from the front. They suck at it. Even with the full support of a decent team, an assault charging first into battle is meat. Fast mediums and lights are far, far better at initiating a push, IMHO. They charge in, sew some chaos, and allow the Assaults to crest a ridge and reap the harvest.

Assaults need to get themselves into positions where they can apply the most firepower with the least risk. If you play like Iron Man, you're bound for disappointment.

My Direwolf WLR and KDR disagrees. When the enemy mechs see me, it is them who run for cover. If they do not, it is them who will die.

im getting feed up by ur so called pro tips im allways the last 1 alive im allways the guy with the most ******* damage .... i know how to ******* play


anyway gave this game a chance and its still the same bullshit game like it was 2 years ago

Sorry but you not "always" the guy with the most damage, your not "always" the last guy alive. Sorry but assaults are extremely potent in the right hands. Especially since Hit Reg is getting better and better. Even in my Jenner I am careful against assault mechs.

um a jagermech with 2 gauss rifles can **** u up faster than u can... ull just annoy him with these cuac5s

Are you moving alot of the rear armor to the front on the ct and st's? Also cover is the best armor in the game so yes evasive lights and mediums are stronger than heavies and assaults for "durability", but assaults need to still use it and rely on their heavier firepower advantage.

Masterying a good assault and getting the assault bonus to speed etc is nearly as tough as mastering a bad light mech. Stick with it until its mastered then players see a huge improvement in their assault mechs.

Try using LRM's until its mastered. It sort of makes up for the slow speed of the mech until then.
