i see that envirement will be destructeble at some point but what about flamers will they be able to start forrest fires? and if so will that increase heat buildup for mechs in the forrests? i hope so also they should not be able to burn the entire forrest with one shot with the flamer.

also i exspekt flamers to affeckt heat build up in mechs they hit as they do in battletech i hope this is in the game already ofc. the forrest thing is from the battletech rpg and board game also its a offcial rule of the game

This has been brought up before, mind you and I not in a thread by itself but rather in one about the destructible environment, but so far no one knows. We can confirm that flamers will be in game and that the devs will impliment destructible environments at some point in time. but no say on whether you can start forest fires or how exactly the flamer will work.

Regardless, Heat Generation is a fine line to walk with the Flamer and hopefully the devs will walk it well.

This would actually be nice...a smaller mech could lure a bigger enemy into a forest area and then start a forest fire around his mech capitalizing on his lower maneuverability and larger heat build-up.

well true but flamers have exstreme short rang and they shots aint fast also the heat generation is higher for the mech firing than the mech hit by a flamer its meant to slow down a mech´s firing rate when facing 2 or more openents and one is a close combat support mech with flamers

This would be epic, not only would it look amazing. It'd completley screw up your heat vision too. It'd add an extra bit of depth just by doing something so simple. :)

Flamer on a swift small mech against a much larger, heat sensitive (e.g. heat generating) target could be a very interesting tactical option, even more so ina forest scenery. Here you could definately at least cause trouble to an enemy that you barely scratch otherwise.
