Been working on a dire wolf builds here...

^^ My very first direwolf build. Had a nice mix of everything at all ranges. Armor taken out of legs and arms because those parts almost never take very much damage. It's an acceptable place to take armor out. 48 is my hard line because then they get too easy to destroy. 56 is my comfort zone.

^^ this was my long-time DWF-Prime build before my unit mates started gave me their input. Medium lasers are low weight and do massive damage with many of them, as well as having fairly long range. Allowed more weight for equipment.

^^ My unit mates input on the build. The artemis is nice because of the quicker and longer locks, I was told the LRM15s have a lot better weight and damage distrubtion over LRM20s. AMS was dropped because it's supposedly not very effective. More heatsinks for sustained DPS. An extra ton of gauss ammo ensures I don't run dry, ever.

^^ I realized that the LRMs were about the weight of a gauss rifle. I can only charge 2 at a time, but then the 3rd one starts charging if I lose it, which is twice the length of maintaining a gauss rifle charge. It can be fired in succession and pin point with the lasers to melt CT armor in 2 seconds. The lasers are helpful for dealing with lights and fast mediums.

^^ High pin point sniper. Lacks a targeting computer to help with PPC velocity. Sacrifices a ton of gauss ammo. Requires very careful aim to deal with lights, does not do well alone. Instant damage can be devestating, however.

^^ If, for whatever reason, someone felt compelled to combine the two builds this is what it might look like.

^^ this troll build gets an honorable mention.

What do you guys think?

Compare to metamechs.com for the 'comp' builds.

You dont want my advice for Assaults.
