If you are playing MWO or even any other FPS style game you want the best rig you can buy or get mom to shell out for :)

Now monitors tend to last forever and unless you are richer than blake or have mom's credit card once purchased there it shall sit while other parts come and go.

Not going to get into the endless IPS vs TN panel wars, gysnc vs freesync yada yada. If you are a gamer then likely you already NOW what you want.

I myself have been on the fence for a while now. My Acer 22 WS has been a workhouse for years now.

But then along comes this:

Having jumped into the que line at EVGA to step my 970 to a 980 it has my hand twitching to my wallet.

Perhaps the price wont be too much of a slam, maybe freesync will help drive the cost below 5 bills.

Maybe

Yeah, screens make a big difference. I'm currently using a 60hz lcd that is poorly reviewed when it comes to latency. I'm much more competitive when I play on my old CRT, but that thing takes up all my desk space :)

If I were to buy a screen (and had the money) I'd get a rog swift. That said I'd advise to wait for freesync screens that should be out in march.

I'm going to hold out for an OLED monitor with a backlight that is able to do strobing, hoping they come sooner before my current monitor decides to die.

That way we get the speed and motion clarity of strobing TN with the color of IPS, everyone wins!

Oled has a backlight?

I just ordered the BenQ 32" VA 1440P on sale at the egg for $640 bucks. Its only 60 htz refresh rate, but i really don't care. Sure the new monitors look really nice and all, but so did the Asus Rog, but for $800 I passed on it. Time will tell if I am sorry for pulling the trigger, but I really don't think I will be unhappy with the new monitor. It has a 4ms response time, and little to no ghosting. It's not gonna be "Top end" for some games, but I believe it will really be a very nice monitor for gaming.

That monitor is awefully tempting. I'm looking to upgrade my 21" LCD anyway. Let's see what they eventually charge.

Hate to think that I'll possibly have to switch to widescreen in the future. I love 4:3 resolution. My aim is always better than it is playing on widescreen. Wouldn't wanna play in windowed mode either. :P
