Why Ifr-Prime(I)?... Why Not Ifr-A(I) Or Ifr-C(I)?

I really enjoy playing in shitboxes and terribad mechs

however the special invasion variant of the IFR we got is a little bit too special... IFR has only 10 tons max for equipment and that CT energy hardpoint means 25% more potential weapon capacity... that's a 25% handicap on a chassis with so little to play with and with very fragile arms. Not even god-mode quirks are gonna save this one.

So... why not IFR-"not prime"(i)?

I thought all Prime variants are Invasion model. PGI is being consistent, perhaps?

I agree, it's annoying to choose between extra CB or Weapons

edit: typo

One of the reasons I resisted buying those packs. On a mech where the difference of 1 hard point matters I wasn't going to give PGI money for a variant I wouldn't want to pilot normally.

Point... But is there a most common that is actually considered Common here?

Oh no! Can't have your cake AND eat it too??

I have no issue with PGI's strategy.

Do you have invasion pack?

We must await the Clan Quirkening, I suppose. The lack of hardpoints on the Ice Ferret makes the Prime variant a silly choice for anything but C-bill grinding with TAG and BAP.

I do, and I don't have an issue with it.

Hm...Jenners and StormCrows? Fairly similar, in some cases. If you mean stock or semi stock loadouts.

(I) just denotes the 30% c-bill bonus. In case you hadn't noticed, the pack Mechs with the bonus usually are the worst of the bunch because they have that bonus.

The Ice-Ferret with the CT energy hardpoint isn't really much of a game changer... outside of the "look ma, no arms" phenomenon that is the Mist Lynx.

Even the crappy Gargoyle-Prime with the 1E CT hardpoint isn't that much worse than the Gargoyle-D with a 2E CT.
