So I don't know to much about the factions besides Clans and Inner Sphere Houses..I don't know much about their ideology. Simple enough if I had to sum up my politics and theory of stuff is I am like Steve Rogers/Captain America...Sorry but easiest way to put it with out typing out a ton of stuff and give to much of political views and get into politics on here. My Mech choices? If I had the opportunity I would like a Madcat Mk.II but since that is not in game (yet) I have a Timberwolf/Madcat...Other then that I like The faster Assault/Heavy Mechs...So looking to finally put down what faction I should join...If only they had mercenary units where mech choice didnt matter. Guessing going to need to join a Clan over IS side but well see!

Well, how much do you know about the Clans?

In general, Clans tend to be either more Crusader or Warden, which is a different approach to reforming the Star League.

I guess the Captain America idea, might fit closer with Wardens.

There's more, but I'll stop for now.

Sarna.net is your friend.

But if that doesn't help...

Do not permanently pledge to a faction. Choose the temporary contract options so you can bounce between factions when your contract ends. When you find a faction you like, stay with it.

there is little difference between the clan factions, or the IS factions besides the logo and location.

To be honest you probably won't see much besides colors and the mechs you are fighting.

Looking at the options since I like clan mechs mostly (sorry I admire some of the nice IS but not my style of play). Its down to I think Wolf or Ghost Bear.

I'd suggest looking up each of the factions on Sarna like previous posters have suggested.

However, in game, if you don't have IS mechs and only have Timberwolves, start with a clan side and go from there. Don't pledge loyalty, as you may change your mind in a month. The Loyalty bonus differences are small between endless and 30 days.

I know having a lack of formality or traditions reinforced through education might sound glamorous but don't rule out the Jade Falcons.

They were named for a genetically modified Falcon, known as the Jade Falcon!

And that's all you need to know.

I choose....Saw Bjorn and followed my linage to lol. And No I am not aggresive enough to fit with Jade Falcon or Smoke Jag's...More defender then wanting to kill...I dont like bullies, I don't care where they are from.

Yeah, when you get in-game and go to the Faction tab, you will get to make your selection and Clans can be found behind the House options with how that part of the UI is setup.

Take your time and check out Sarna, there is no rush with how it is currently setup in-game.

And remember don't Pledge Loyalty yet, just take one of the shorter contracts for now.

There are a couple things to consider:

Have you tried playing both IS and Clan mechs? Figure which you enjoy more, because they are currently segregated within CW drops.

Next, do you plan on joining a unit? Of course, you can drop solo in CW, but the system is made for groups. Once VOIP comes online, it'll be far easier to find groups you enjoy being with, but for now I would suggest hopping around the various Faction Teamspeaks.

I owned a Jagger Mech that was my first last spring for awhile....It was OK but not my play style to slow not enough fire power...I want something like the MK.II was...Just bought the Timberwolf Prime, saving for next maybe a Direwolf. Its not known yet....If they announced the MK.II i would drop for that. or at-least save the amount needed..But that is always off I feel (sorry like I am obsessed ith that mech since I played hte old days of MW4). IS Mechs not to interested in till Fafnir or Templar and maybe Bushwacker. All not in game yet.

Timberwolf MK II productions year: 3066
Fafnir production year: 3063
Templar production year: 3062
Bushwacker production year: 3053

The Bushwacker is only a couple years out, so is likely to be the first of the group if they decide to jump the timeline coming up.

The current date PGI is going off is Feb 11 3050.

Clock

I myself prefer IS mechs because they have a little more personality. I can make Cataphracts doing almost anything well but missiles, and IS lights are superior in almost all categories over clan lights, especially (possible) speed.

Clan mechs almost always seem to go the 89.1kph or 107.6kph laser vomit route, with occasional SRM splat boats and LRMs from time to time. Only Dire Wolves make good ballistic boats, and are the only clan mech that can effectively (Carry enough ammo to make sense) do dual gauss with some laser backup.

OK so I chose my Clan. I bought even the colors for this (yeah I think I am committing to this one soon fully) But...Where are the unique skins? DO I have to earn them some how I cant find any camo patterns really that are clan unique. Much less something on my Mech showing my Factions besides colors.
