Because this game is first and foremost a online PVP game. I purpose that the software constantly checks your internet connection and if it is unsatisfactory then the player is not allow to launch into a match. If you cant stay connected and are useless in a match because of it then there is no reason for you to be there in the first place annoying 20+ other people.

This is workable if, and only if, PGI implements some manner of competitive queue with real-world rewards or something that would necessitate such a draconian measure. Basic CW, and even more the Public Queue instant-action games, have no need for this, and indeed it would destroy the game, especially given that European, Asiatic, and Pacific players often have inherent ping issues that are entirely out of their control.

I hear what you're saying, but I suspect the issue here is not connection related at all.

People crash on round-start in this game. A lot. I fairly regularly play with 2-3 other folks and I would say every 10 drops or so at least one of us crashes to desktop when a match has been launched.

Including me, with my 350mbit fibre connection. Definitely not a connection issue.

1. PGI can't code for ****. 99% of disconnects are PGI's fault.
2. PGI can't code for ****. If they made this system it would probably boot lots of people with "false positives" for "bad" connections.

how about no?

some people CANNOT control their ping, essentially PGI is saying "nope, **** off" by doing this.
rather than players just having to deal with high pings, you want PGI to just put up a sign telling people No, you aren't allowed to play at all!

So, it is PGI's fault if you play with a horrible ping and bring your team down because you cant hit anything or do any damage? PGI shouldnt let you play and you shouldnt play if you are an albatross around the neck of your team. However, PGI is going to let you plan and expect your team to pick up your slack.

A shame they cant let all the people with 400 ping play together in their own lagfest.

They should impliment that as soon as they sort out all the DCing that has nothing to do with people connections (which is most of the DCs) and have implimented regional servers.
