Drunken Mouse? (Patch)

yes, same fps, but I increased the settings. excellent.


my mouse...feels like the mech is walking around drunk, I looked at the ingame settings they are the same- same mouse/dpi settings...

am I missing something else? I HATE it.

Thats sort of scant info to go by... mouse sensitivity level? You may need to adjust it to compensate for the fps.... thats my only guess. Also can you explain what a mech acting drunk is doing?

Wondering if you have 1) mouse acceleration turned on, or 2) a maxed-out processor that's struggling to keep your mouse movements real-time on the screen.

Did you resolve this? I haven't noticed it myself, but then I'm often half-cut when I play.. So I wouldn't ;)

Thats the only way I knew how to describe it. I'd drag the cursor to the right, about a half second delay from when I moved the mouse, to when the mech began to respond. I stop the mouse at X point, and the mech would slide past that, and return to where I had stopped the mouse.
Seemed like the mech was drunk!

Did not resolve, simply messed with the various settings (which I never touched for the last two years (including the replacement a year ago)- it was definitely patch (to me) related)
Still not as crisp as it was, I just simply adapted Posted Image

I wonder if your video cards buffering too many frames. Have you tried enabling vsync?

Yup, on, off, adaptive, adaptive half rate.
Screwed with various settings (nvid control panel) and while its better, its NOT as good as it was the hours before the patch.
Making me suspect that vs. failing vid, failing processor, etc etc.
The ONE thing I've learned is wait till the next patch. :D

Sorry if its obvious.. But have you confirmed that your ping is OK?

hehe...my ping is the envy of most players...sub 50, typically high 30's.
packet loss measured in tenth of thousands and milliseconds.

Guessed that wasn't it.

Support are usually super helpful.. time to send in a ticket, if you haven't alrdy..

If v-sync is on, try enabling triple buffering. You might also reduce the maximum number of pre-rendered frames.

All the suggestions appreciate, thanks.
I'm going to live with it. I've tried all those before posting, its just one of those things I suppose.
I read with nvidia cards, trip buffering was a no-no? (fps killer)



last patch was an fps boost, so, instead of going for higher frames, I raised several settings from medium, to high.
*the drunken mouse problem was noted 3-4 battles before I bumped the settings.
I popped in to read patch notes, saw the stuff about increased fps, and yup, 20-30% increase for me. THAT was welcome.
