When i try to log on it still says that servers are undergoing maintenance. Tried everything i could think of to fix this short of completely re-installing the game. Tried to run the repair tool but it crashes as soon as it starts. Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it?

Try this:

Open Start Menu
Search for and run Internet Options
Click the Advanced tab
Click Reset...
Click Reset in the pop-up
Click Close when the process is complete
Launch the client and attempt a log-in

If the Reset... button is not present inside your Advanced tab, try these steps instead:

Open Internet Explorer
Hit the Alt key to bring up your File, Edit, etc toolbar
Click File
Check Work Offline
Click File again
Uncheck Work Offline
Close IE
Launch MWO and attempt a log-in

Not to be a total bore, but have you tried rebooting your PC, and (perhaps less obviously) rebooting your router/cable modem/connection hardware?

For some unknown reason my fibre connection drops out for a minute around midnight pretty much every day and if I happen to be playing MWO at the time, I'll be booted out. If I attempt to reconnect before the router has finished storing the connection (which can take a minute or two), I typically get the "servers under maintenance" error, even though the servers are presumably just fine, and it's actually my connection that's not 100%. Certainly once the router is back up and web browsing works again, the next attempt to login works.

Rebooting my pc and router was the first thing I tried. Didn't make any difference and I'm still getting the exact same error. The patcher opens just fine and I can get to the login screen but it always gives the same network error servers are currently down for maintenance. I tried to run the repair tool but it crashes as soon as I start it no matter what settings I use.

Had a feeling you'd probably tried the reboot options but it's always worth checking. I'm out of suggestions, sorry -- hope you find a solution.

Tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game and now the patcher won't even open and the repair tool still won't run.

Tried using a system restore to before the patch then ran the game and patcher. Now says that there is a missing PAK file and to run the repair tool but the repair tool still crashes as soon as it starts.
