Ok so I know I am not new but I don't always follow what all the changes and such are in the game. I just got the gargoyle C and I changed its ballistic arm to the one with 4 energy points. I then put 4 mediums on it and 6 small pulse lasers. I have almost max armor and the rest of the tonnage is in heat sinks. Now when I fire just the medium lasers it generates about 20% heat if I am just standing there. It is about the same for the small pulse lasers. So I thought if I alpha strike then I would sit between 50-70% heat at the worst. Apparently I was wrong because if I alpha strike from 0 heat it still overheats me and does a little damage. Gas anyone else run into this/ know why this is happening or is it just technology malfunctioning around me again?

As above. PGI in its infinite lack of wisdom tied Clan small and Clan medium class lasers together in MWO for ghost heat.

Exploit by using a large laser or large pulse combined with 6 small pulse in total. Then you can alpha strike without additional heat. In fact it'll be significantly less heat than the 4 medium lasers together.

The ER Large Laser is the same weight as the 4 medium lasers.

you can simply fire the medium lasers, and make a small delay until firing the smalls (0,5secs its the time to prevent ghostheat).
train this firing scheme a bit in the training ground.

then go out for happy hunting.

Ahh ok I did not know they were tied to ghost heat. Thanks for the help.
