The Urbanmech Collector's package was the only set i bought so far; the rest never appealed to me.
Would have been worth its money anyway, the premium time alone is a rather sweet deal. As far as i'm concerned they can give the annyversary rewards to anyone if they feel inclined to; i'm not jealous. It's my money and my mechbay.
In addition; i guess they want to demonstrate the 30% c-bill bonus to more players. It doesn't seem like much on paper; but the effect is obvious once you run a string of solid victories with good damage. Might get more people to buy future packs.

I guess Urbie 40$ pack sales were lower then expected, so some attraction should be made. To spare the labour, PGI threw in some stuff that has been already made.
Exactly this. For zero extra effort they give players an incentive to spend more, with the Urby package being the 'extra-cheap' option, being half of the next package up. It's just smart business.
I see a lot of people that already own the mechs not being too impressed but for the players who don't have them...that's like 3 Hero mechs (2 of them Assaults) that you get plus their mechbays. Easily worth over 18000MC. With $50 netting you 12000MC I'm seeing the appeal here.

Think of it this way. The Urbie wasn't a guaranteed thing.
If you supported it beforehand, then it's a nice bonus.
