"bitching Betty" Custom Sounds

She asked, "Isn't there a way to change what she says over and over?" "At least they should let wives or girlfriends (MechWidows as she says) record it in their own voice " "That way we don't have to listen to another woman in the other room!"
Personally, I think it would be great if we could add custom .wav files to change the notifications.
Any thoughts on this?

Well technically, all the 'Betty Bites' are only played on the local client.
- But modifying, changing, altering any of these, breaks the agreement you have with PGI to play this game.
- Even with 'testing' a changed file, any other client (in spectator view mode) will still hear there file, not yours.
There has been a few threads directed to PGI about this concern,
- specifically about having a listed checkbox window of warnings and dialogue items that could be or can be 'unchecked' to not play that specific sound.
- This would require quite a few new pages and code items to be designed and linked to 'events' within the game.
(as an example Elite Dangerous has just this item included in the sound settings, an extensive scrolling page with nearly every sound that is played for an 'event')
This game is still listed as Beta, so we have quite a bit of design to go towards a 'Full Release' and a complete clients interface.

Still, funny how one can be jealous of even a disembodied voice.
On topic: I do approve of your suggestion, so you have my vote.

Would require PGi to allow us this, and maybe adjust checkroutines in case they check some files for specific validity.

You could get headphones.
Just saying.
It's probably going to be a big benefit to you when they institute voice chat in the game to avoid your wife hearing what the pugs think about their teammates' performances.

I'm surprised it took this long to come up with the headphone solution.

Carrying on with custom sound desires, it'd be pretty cool to have CL4P-TP as a custom voice set.

YES!! I agree, and I'd drop some serious cash on this, specifically Samuel L Jackson for the incoming missile warning.

can you hear her screamign "wooah incoming!!!" as missile warning xD
but people may replace betty with soem more shorter and informational warnings. The missile incoming warning of betty is a bit too long, if you would use this as an indicator instead of the flashing writing you would mostly act too late.
