Pay attention, and don't strip your rear armor - you'll do great :)

And also force people to take a class that teaches them about how arm weapons fire from further out to the side than torso ones so that they can stop wrecking allied mechs from behind!

Why not just give assault mechs +1,000 armor to every component if we're asking for stuff that isn't needed.

Mmmm, wait, my lights are debating about your proposal...

No.

Sorry but the High Court of HCoL (High Coucil of Lights) has rejected your proposal.

Try again :)

Yeah... no. That's pretty insane. Most assaults already have equal (or more) internal structure than most mediums have armor and structure, combined.

Example: Atlas chassis have somewhere between 60-62 CT structure.

Do you know how frustrating it is to shoot a cored Assault (dead in the CT) til you overheat, and STILL not kill it?

But Assaults should be tanky like that. But, yes, I do know how annoying it is to fire endlessly into someone and have them not die.

As an assault/heavy pilot I'll say this to you: if you let a light 'mech (or a faster 'mech... or ANY 'mech in general) get behind you it's either bad positioning on your part or you got outplayed by something faster. I've been cored out from behind plenty of times because I've been out-maneuvered.

Although sometimes it's also because I tend to get tunnel vision >.>

I'm talking about dark orange to red cored Assaults. Not freshly cored Assaults with no coloration or just light orange.
Nothing that internally damaged should be that tanky.

But I'm glad you understand. Especially sucks to go from being armored & hitting a cored Assault to being dead with the very same cored Assault still alive.

1) Biggest Rear Hitboxes

2) Slowest Torso Twist

3) Slowest General Movement Speed

4) Too Easy beeing annoyed and even destroyed by out-manouvering lights that does not even register full damage on them!

5) Too Easy being critted in the back by high alphas, especially by weapons that generate crits above 10 'cause point 1 and 2

Nothing is going to be tanky in a 12 vs. 12 environment. If you want your assault mech to fight through 5+ enemy and emerge unscathed, you might as well give everyone an invulnerable potion.

Granted. Also most tonnage, firepower, heat sinks and ammo capability. It's called trade-offs.

Pilot problems. Be more situationally aware and don't walk backwards towards the enemy. If you're having trouble with lights either stay closer to your team, ask your team to stay closer to you, call out for help, or park your back against a wall and learn to shoot moving targets. If you still have trouble, maybe assaults aren't for you. Try a heavy instead.

King Crab got free 17 armor per arm. My Direwhale wants that too.

Actually, he has a point, kind of.... maybe.... well, not really. BUT! What if, instead of having a maximum armor value, you can just armor up till you run out of tonnage. SUPER TANKER ATLAS, GOOOOooooooooo......oh. It would be hilarious, for all of three seconds, before your opponents realised your Atlas had a Machinegun, 4 small lasers, and three SRM 2s, with 100pts of Armor on each ST, 200 on the CT, and 150 for everything else.

I am all for getting rid of that high PPFLD build. I use 6xCUAC5s anyway.

You do realize that KC also can do Dual Gauss + ERPPCs while having extra armor in the arms, right?

But seriously, if they were to buff Assault Resilience, it should be Front Armor, because that is where you should be taking the hits. If you're getting shot in the back, you (or your team) are doing something wrong.
