having played mwo from the start and quiting for a while due to trolling and the feeling of futility, i reloaded mwo and here is what I saw

1: trolling, first match and we had 2 tks, 1 afk, and a meander fest until the other team saw our incompetence and crushed us

2: skill, the level of play is tremendously improved both as individuals and in pug groups. CW gave players a reason to work together and it shows in the other game modes.

3: a faster experiance, i had a hard time holding my sites on target at any range. The mechs and weapons have tighter controls and the need to shoot and scoot is much higher. The use of lasers and lrms is impossible without teamwork or lucky breaks.

4:happy surprises, the perk system is a great thing and mechs dont die quite as easily or do as bad control wise.

Overall im happy with the improvements, but i need to see more in the enviroment than other players to convince me of dumping more money into this game. The new counter attack game mode is an awsome step in that direction, but i would love to see more in game assets fighting as npcs either as tanks, helicopters, planes, and mechs. The standard i have with other mmo games of this type includes just that, so i hope to see it sometime soon. Thanks pgi for all the work, keep it up!

Welcome back.
MWO is getting better and better.
Haters are still hating but never quit to play, even after dozens quit threads, so the game must be good.
See you in the battlefield.

Can't say I see TKing more than 3 times a year, but yeah, agreed.

How long where you gone?

Yes, most improvements have happened in the last 6 months, the next 6 will be very interesting.

I count trying to dock mech {Richard Cameron} as teamkilling.

As you get better, and get put with more experienced players, it seems the level of trolling goes way down... I hardly see it these days

Pretty sure assists and other stuff give more $$ than just kills

I see both sides - guys trying to get a kill and shooting me in the process, and mindless donkeys walking in front of me while I'm obviously shooting someone

As I said, as you get better that stuff happens less.

You do have to get better though, lol

You must hav been unlucky. I haven't seen any TKing or any of that assholery in a long while. I see more people arguing in All chat and being jerks more than anything else.

The game has been steadily improving. The devs involvement with the community has also been top notch. Which is great because there are a lot of stellar ideas out there for gameplay improvements, maps, etc.

I agree with others that TKing and trolling is very rare in the competitive upper ELOs. I haven't seen an intentional TK in months, with the exception of a new player dropping on my team trying to kill me. His account was less than a week old, so he must have been one of those "waste of the gift of life" types.

Thank you for the well thought out statement... it is good to see something else on the forums besides ragequit posts. The game really is getting better all the time.

Welcome back!

OP it is not so much team TK its team intentional damage so you die and they get all the kills.I cant tell you how many times I have been crit rear armor because a team member wanted my kill. You will see as I have all is fair so now I turn around when team damaged and crit them without killing them.

Its sad man when you have to try and defend yourself from your own team mates. But the stupid DEVS have made it where unless you get kills you meke almost 0 Cbills so these idiots damage there own team mates to make more Cbills.

Don't listen to this guy. He's one of the chronic complaining tin foil hatters.

If you see a TK'er, expect to see him all night till he gets banned. They are a rare, but determined type of jerkface. Ussually it's a nova or something else they can get 2 kills with before suiciding and switching to giving away your position.

Personally, I think I might see it happen once or twice a month, mostly on a weekend, when support is AFK and cannot ban them.

Also a returning player here.

Haven't seen any of this. People have always had dc/afk issue but often people reconnect now so that's a huge improvement. A lot of games are crush or get crushed but that's nothing new.

Skill seems pretty much the same except in CW. I'm currently playing with the clans and clan pugs seem a step up from what you find in the normal public queue. I'm assuming it's the fact that it is CW and people are more willing to work as a team. Perhaps the type of player attracted to CW is different. Longer queues, more likely to face groups, mech restrictions, etc.

3: a faster experiance, i had a hard time holding my sites on target at any range. The mechs and weapons have tighter controls and the need to shoot and scoot is much higher. The use of lasers and lrms is impossible without teamwork or lucky breaks.

At first I felt really sloppy but after a few games things seem back to normal.

+1 except you can still die super fast to certain mechs if you misstep.

I don't think NPCs are that likely to happen, at least not any time soon. It would be interesting though if the IS got more resources the further the clans progressed.

Thanks for the replies, i stopped in sept 2014 after getting tk'd for screening my pug mates. I feel that mire playtime is needed to recalibrate to the controls so they's that too.

I can see from my further matching that teaming up is needed in makeing it up to the higher elo for less asshatery. Im trying to make lasers work, but again all i do is paint the cover. How's the hot reg for srms doing?

About the fast game play you mentioned. Heres a secret for those that dont know yet. Turn down your mouse sensitivity in game to half and go from there to what works best, but start at half. Players will see a huge improvement in their matches.

I am tempted not to share it, it makes that much difference.
