Would provide easy tracking of issues, if already submitted or not, priority, status, etc.

Like this. Users can submit bugs, other users confirm, gets marked as confirmed, marked as priority level, marked as being worked on, marked as complete etc.

They will be using something similar internally with their support registering bug reports.
Suggestion is for a public version to speed up the process and know others have already reported the bug.

Exactly, you got it all right! In fact I think they must be using one internally and opening it up could help everyone know what's already reported, what's being worked on, etc.

Was also thinking of bugzilla as an example. ;)
