This may not be the correct forum to post this in. If it's not, I reckon the moderators will move it. Anyways, I'm considering getting a larger monitor and wondering whether my graphics card will still handle MWO at that resolution with acceptable framerates without severely scaling back the 3D display options. I'm currently running a 1080p monitor and achieving around 50fps. I'm looking to go to a 27" 2560x1440 monitor. I'm currently running an Nvidia GTX 480 with an i5-3570K.
Anyone else running a GTX 480 at 2560 resolution? If so, what framerates are you seeing in MWO?
TIA!

Hey there
,
Have you tried checking on Game Debate? http://www.game-deba...arrior%20Online
It can tell you how well the game will run. I use it almost always before purchasing a new game!

Thanks, interesting site. It says I should have no problems (~67 fps at ultra settings for 2540 x 1440), but I'm not sure I believe it -- it gave me the same number for 1920 x 1080 on ultra. I suppose that's possible, if my max framerate is limited by my CPU or my RAM (or the software), rather than my graphic card. Cool site anyways.

A 480 at 1440P? I'm definitely thinking you'll have to turn at least some things down, not to low, but you'll have some medium settings in there, I think.

I got to test a GTX 480 @ 1800 x 1440, but only in the training grounds: Envorn was Low, Damage Glow was off, Effect was Very, and everything else was High. (Setting Shadows, Particles, and Objects to Medium is a CPU thing.)

I decided not to push it. I got a 27", but went with a slightly less expensive 1080p one that did 144Hz. I'll report back after I use it awhile on whether higher refresh rate makes a difference.
