Hello all. Just a thought revolving around my head the last few days that i thought good to share with the rest of the community.
Since there is a lot of complains about Community Warfare being a little too "hard core" by a lot of players, especially ones that do not belong in groups or battle in MWO with a few friends, there should be a feature in CW so that they are ultimately not driven away from participating.
So, with that in mind, i was thinking, since each planet in CW is a separate "game instance", why not introduce a small number of planets in each attack phase that would allow only solo drops or possibly 2-man groups max., much like the solo queue.
That could also help warriors in organised drops, that could venture in those planets during hours that their company is not online and would like to drop in CW matches.
Thoughts?
thanks for reading,

I love your idea, but I'm afraid there still isn't enough player base to split the queue just yet. I'm a pug and get stomped in CW repeatedly by 12 man teams, but every once in a while you'll find a nice 12 man group that is encouraging to you as a pug even though they whip you soundly.
Maybe after the Steam release, we'll have enough players to split the queue up.

Thanks for taking an interest and providing another point of view on the subject Triodinant. Yes, what you describe in your post, is generally the truth about human nature, and how people react when called to function within a system. However, that does not mean it should not be tried, or that it wouldn't work.
For example, there might be the intention of a 12-man group to synch drop and open up an attack on a planet, and might even get a couple of matches, empty or otherwise; but as soon as more solo players start jumping in, the group will not be able to synch, or they might be able to get a few of their players inside. An advantage? possibly; but what would the general feel be? i think it would generally work and encourage more players to participate in the game.

Hello again! Just an addition to my previous responce to you Triordinant (see above). Talking about exploiting the system as it stands currently is much easier, and i have been genuinely surprised that the devs have not thought through these things; Let me explain further :
You belong in a "hard-core" MWO group and taken up a Clan faction in Community Warfare. All you have to do to "Farm PUGS", and "pad" your stats* in there, is planting a "mole" (old terminology back from my Dial-up gaming days
Step 1: One player from your group makes an alternate account and takes up a contract with the Inner sphere faction with the planets your group wants to attack.
Step 2 : Said player starts going through the queues exploring their status. When he finds the right conditions, he reports to his group on standby, "Hey guys lets drop on planet X. there's like 9 Random players in queue and a 3-man group". If the player with the alternate account is also running MWO in a separate instance on another PC, then he stays in that Inner Sphere queue, and then proceeds to drops with his main account with the clan group.
Step 3 : 12-man Clan organised group drops against PUGs that also have a DC at the beginning of the match (i.e. minus 4 mechs). GGClose get rekt
*Stats: I noticed since last patch that player stats are now affected by Community warfare matches. That is probably another good reason for exploiting CW, as players wanting to "pad" their stats, can easily do so in that environment, and the cause of frustration for the rest of us, as we begin to spectate silly behaviour from players, trying to hide and "stay alive" in their crippled mechs, hesitating to fight, etc. etc.
