I've been trying to give this mech a chance since i've woken up, and yeah. I almost always lose the armor of one ST or another after a single kill/fight in a match. I'm keeping this thread alive for a bit, since these hitboxes ruin what would have been one of my top 3 favorite clan mechs to use.

Yeah, its a tricky mech to fight with, atleast when its the focus of attack. It doesnt really have the hardpoints to stand up to other PPFLD builds and its own ST feel like they start stripped and cherry red....yet still I somehow manage to survive longer in it then any IS mech I drove.

I always go for Warhawk torso's.
Because they're full of candy :D

Nothing in the CT to worry about, but if you take off the right torso.. oops, there goes most of its weapons.

Take off its Left torso, and it can't fire what weapons remain on the right side and you'll usually get them to shutdown on the spot due to heatcap loss when all the DHS go bye bye.

WHK-C

Remove the right side and it has plenty of DHS to work with, remove the left side and it doesn't really need that many to run a single CERLLAS and still has the Gauss as well.

Warha

Crazy talk. The Warhawk is the best-in-class Assault mech for CW bringing the pain, moving at speed, and taking hits like a champ. The thing can absolutely smash heads in. Either pure cLPL (4x) or the laser/LRM hybrid* and it is rock solid.

* I like the hybrid more as it performs well on any map but the Wubhawk is very lethal on maps with like Boreal as it is cold and lots of lanes to fire from.

"Taking hits like a champ"... you sure the WHK ur driving isn't a DWF? Because, you know, everyone says that as an excuse for their quick deaths.

LOL So you want people to drop with the Warhawk in CW. Look I can totally understand why you want that, I do, really. Just don't trash me while you're trying to get noobs to pad your score.

I've seen a lot of good players drop with Warhawks into CW. They are the most powerful LRM boat clans can bring out, and are formidable with their laser vomit and ERPPCs. 10 more tons than a Timberwolf, but they can bring a horrifying number of LRMs.

You may find that while there are some people who shoot for legs, there's a great number of folks who actively side-torso shoot clans, especially mechs with generally over-weighted weapon systems.

Missile TBR peeking and hiding his legs? I'll strip his ears. Things with big firepower and generally nothing in the legs may get those STs stripped fast.

OK I'll give on the LRM boat, only because it is a horrid waste to do it in a DW. Still, its size and hit boxes will prevent it from being a serious threat while in LoS combat.

Warhawks in and of themselves are not bad choices for CW, the trouble is they mean you hav to bring a mech that weighs less than 55 tons, and at the moment they are all very sub par (kitfox is the pick of the bunch, but its not good). That will change in august.

At least they target your Warhawk's STs. My Whale is getting its CT molested like no tomorrow. And we all know popping both STs of a 70 kph Assault is harder to do than coring the jutting CT of a 54 kph whale.

I always get cut in half in a Dire Wolf before dying due to 2nd ST loss or CT loss. I almost never die due to straight CT coring.

Its a sad ***** day when an 85t assault mech cannot face tank anything, lest it be melted due to obscenely large hit boxes...
