It's clearly inferior to the AS7-S, has none of the utility of a DDC, zero zombie capability, only 1 missile and 1 ballistic hardpoint. I'm still struggling to figure out why I spent $15 on it, besides the XL400 engine I could put into other more useful mechs.

I like the "Clanner" 400 XL idea for BH
It has been awhile since I've played but the two loadouts remember that worked for me on the BH was 6 ML, AC20, and LRM20 or 2 PPC, 4 ML, AC20, and SRM6 with the biggest standard for both loadouts.

Fear this mighty 100 tons of Death, shaking ground and minds with his sheer presence! Wait. We are talking about the King Crab and Direwhale, aren´t we? Because the Atlas has become some kind of meh. Except the Atlas-S, maybe.
And the mehest of them all is the Boar´s Head. I have a crazy Quirk idea for this fat guy: Give him a XL engine like the claners! His original loadout comes with a 400 XL, so why not make something special about. If that doesn´t work, make the medium pulse laser Quirks better.


And PLEASE, fix the Hitboxes of the Firestarter. They are the same anoying bugger as the Raven 3L were during the beta. Just have a look around how many Firestarters dropping in every game. Sound proof that they OP.

Gotta say I pretty much support this OP. The Death's Knell to FS9 comparo is very good food for thought, and I don't even use either, lol. The SIB indeed needs mor evolve, as does the VND-1X

Should compare the jumping Direwolf and the Highlanders. 100 ton mech shouldn't jumper better than a 90 ton mech.

I think the 733P could use even more help as well. Better LL quirks mainly.

PGI's solution to hitboxes is to make them larger than the mech. From what I have heard, when the hitboxes are small and damage hits two at the same time the calculation gets all messed up. It is much easier to make the hitboxes larger than to fix the code I guess.

Could be worse I paid full price on the day it was introduced and dread to think what that was. ;)

I've had 3 of my highest kill totals in the Boars Head so I'm quite sentimental about it I just don't think it has much place since the Direwolf was introduced. Was distinctly unimpressed with the quirks as with one ballistic slot in a 100 tonner why would you fit an AC10 when you can slot an AC20 straight in? If the quirks themselves had been better it might still have had a role but they weren't and the S/D-DC are just plain better in the brawler role.

PS: It has a GREAT paintjob though!

Yes but 50% sucks, 100% would be ok.
Why the hell MGs have spread at all when UAC 2/5/10/20s doesn't have it.

The Op left out the Orion hero Protector?????? I mean i stopped taking it to the star map and my scores are thanking me. :) Same with the commando, stopped taking that and scores improved vastly.

the question is what to do with it to make not a second thunderbolt synrome mech. It tends to boat Energieweapons, and so is at the risk to be the same suddenly overbuffed chassis.

Go with what most pilots used... AC20 and ML then its definitely not a TDR. ;)

I'd say just give it better generic beam weapon quirks and get rid of the weapon specific ones, it's a 100 ton assault with 6 energy hardpoints, there's at least half a dozen optimized laser configs you can fit on it while still having enough tonnage left for an AC and SRM launcher.
