I only ever saw the cover of the City Tech, Battle Tech expansion but with the upcoming addition of the Urban mech will Mechwarrior finally see urban maps and maybe other items from City Tech? I have no idea what those would be though.

Be interesting.... Would like to see some more urban sprawls, like what's in the new(est) Dredd movie.

Would love to see an Urban mega city that JJ mechs can traverse the top of buildings, maybe a large star port to the east/west or in a corner area in between if the teams started opposite 'corners'. Even Urban Sprawl between the teams down the middle with a large star port (lots of cover still but some open areas) on one side and a large, mostly open park on the other. It would be AMAZING....

No, the Urbanmech will not usher in any new maps.

best you will get is River City frozen.

The City Tech boxed set had no "new" rules and was a slightly stripped version of the main rules with a set of plastic battlemechs included. No special urban fighting rules included. I can't see anything that could be taken from that rule set which is not already available from the Master Rules.

Well some serious sci fi urban settings like some of the replies above, for battles would be great anyway. The Urban mech needs to be in its natural habitat to pwn anyway. :)

I am pretty sure that the CityTech boxed set was the first time they introduced rules for buildings, both hardened and not so hardened. Most important about that is how they get hit, damaged, and reduced to rubble. And that is something we will probably never see in MWO. Destructible terrain would be amazing in this game. But we won't get it. :( Also, it had an Archer on the box cover art which is weird because that's a terrible mech for fighting in an urban jungle.

Indeed, we've need an urban metropolis style map for a long time. Tired of being in the boonies fighting for a scrap of desert or a stupid snow covered mountain.

CityTech included a LOT of rules that weren't in the original BattleTech/BattleDroids set. Buildings, streets, skidding, infantry, tanks, VTOLs (helicopters and tilt-rotor aircraft), as well as the first instances of the AC2, 10, and 20 (and the first appearance of the Hunchback).

As for the Urbanmech, it coming to MWO holds no portents for urban maps (though in table top the Urbanmech excels in cities and forests, as well as any other terrain that limits line of sight... everywhere else it's a slow target).

If they make the Urbie the proper size it can excel in almost any map. everything but like Causic valley has little nooks and areas it can hide in.

though since they said the engine max would be somewhere between 180 -200 the urbie won't be as slow as it was in lore so it could work on any map.

Just seeing the urbie move at that speed is gonna be hilarious...like the Dire Wolf prance, but maybe even better.
